Ripple surprised many listeners at the Swell conference by announcing that xRapid is going live with three different payment service providers using the technology in the field. Furthermore, Brad Garlinghouse stated that XRP is 1,000 cheaper and 1,000 times faster than Bitcoin.
At the Swell conference in San Francisco, he reiterated that the price of XRP is unimportant to him. For him, the focus is clearly on how the technology can be used to solve problems worldwide.
I really do not think about the price development. I think about the technical performance. And I think of the fact that XRP >is about 1,000 times faster than a Bitcoin transaction and about 1,000 times less than a Bitcoin transaction.

Ripple has already supplanted Ethereum from third place three times this month and has won the silver medal. Further developments will show whether Ripple can continue the positive developments of recent weeks and that this will have an impact on the price of XRP.
Its funny that there are coins 1000 times faster than ripple and 1000 times cheaper as instant payments and fee-less transactions become more popular, sorry just hating on the FEDCoin aka XRP

Comparison of Ripple with bitcoin is pointless because both are different Cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is most trusted and tested Cryptocurrency and known as father of all Cryptocurrency. Ripple has to tested, rather than direct competition with Bitcoin Ripple have to compete with Stellar Lumen which is more cheaper and faster than Ripple.
One of the biggest disadvantage of Ripple is , it is centralize Crypto which company can manipulate price for their own profit on the other hand it is not possible with bitcoin. Ripple is a over hyped Cryptocurrency, even though in the term of capability, cost of transaction it can not beat stellar Lumen.
But XRP gives little incentives for network operators to continue operating.
Fast, cheap, POW coins like Bitcore still have the upper hand.

A cryptocurrency can brag as much as possible how cheap or fast it is but if it's not as decentralized, it's pointless talking about price or speed.
