Review of The Flight Attendant Series Season 1 and 2.

Good evening and welcome to the series of Exciting World View Points.
Where I often do reviews of just about anything and everything.
Today I like to talk about this newer series that is called The Flight Attendant. Just recently watched the entire 2 seasons of it on the app Crave Tv with its partner HBO Max.
HBO Max often has good collection of well written programs from tv series and movies.

Anyways a brief introduction of what the Flight Attendant is about. The series stars Kaley Cuoco who is also a producer of the show. She is most famous for her role on this sitcom called The Big Bang Theory. In this series she plays a Flight Attendant as the name of Cassie Bowden who is an alcoholic and has a habit of drinking while she is working. Also her character likes to have random relations with various strangers and often these strangers are passengers from the flight she is serving on. The main story line of the first season has her waking up in a hotel room hung over and discovers the man beside her is now dead. However it does appear that he has been brutally murdered and she has no memory of what has happened. It also turns out that this guy was also a passenger on her last flight. Now we get into the situation of her meeting up with the FBI who question her about her time at her last city she landed at. The whole time in this first season she has various flashbacks and hallucinations of her talking to this dead guy as well. More less in a case of a murder mystery of a whodunit style of viewing.

I would say this series is for sure not for everyone. This is a mix of drama and dark comedy mixed together. Often the audience does have a choice of what to decide on what to laugh at and take seriously. The character of Cassie can be seen as for sure an anti hero. She is not good person at all and has many vices and problem of her own. For sure she is not an innocent victim by any means in this story line at all. As she does have options for many of her life choices and decides to go more on the dark side of things most of the time. Also she is constantly falling down on herself and is not the brightest of all people one could ever meet. Of course this is just a fictional story and was made for entertainment reasons. Therefore in some instances her character can be seen as some what larger than life. As the audience should not take everything in the story line like a grain of salt.

Often what makes this show very different from others. Is the main character does spend a lot of time speaking to her self conscious. At times we see several different versions of herself in the various situations the main character finds herself in. At times this aspect of the show can be confusing to the viewer at times if not watching carefully. As one could think that the character’s thinking process is part of what is actually happening in the real world.

My thoughts on this was by we got to season 2. The self conscious scenes became overdone. It seemed that these segments were happening all too often then really necessary. To the point that we already know the key element of the scenes and that what could have done without at a few times.

I did find that the way things were concluded at end of season 2 were bit rushed and not the best of writing skills. There could have been one or two more episodes to wrap things up and add better development to the story and few more of the characters.
However it still opens the door for a season 3 which most likely is going to happen.

The series of The Flight Attendant is good on the scale if someone is looking for something different. There is a level of creativity here and some originality as well. Most of the characters in this series do have some form of action. In other words many do get good amount of screen time and not just cardboard at all.
In this review I am not trying to bad mouth this series at all. As I was able to watch both seasons, therefore i did find there is good entertainment value here. There are a lot of interesting surprises in this show. Even a very small role and appearance by the actor Sharon Stone, who actually has an important role in her small part. Actually she does one of the best performances in the entire series.

Overall, on a personal viewpoint I did enjoy this series and does offer a good source of entertainment. More less the show is quite light hearted and should not be viewed too seriously, but good as a casual watch for sure. It does go for a specific taste of viewership, so anyone who gets easily offended on things, this may not be the show for you.

I would recommend this series to anyone looking for a bit of mystery and want something different. Take it a few episodes to see if it is a fit for you.
Generally i think you won’t be disappointed if you’re open minded and looking for something different. Again some of the best performances in this are from Rosie Perez and Sharon Stone. Some of the best scene stealing moments overall.

On that note, on a rating out of 10 stars I am giving this series a 6 out of 10. For that it is good entertainment value but nothing to take series. As well the end of season 2 was very rushed and needed more time to deliver more quality story time.
