One More Light Track Review: Linkin Park (Single)

in #review6 years ago

Three years passed after releasing the Hunting Party album in 2014 and later on a music tour, Linkin Park finally returned with an album titled One More Light. Linkin Park recorded this album from 2015 until February 2017. The music that was carried in this album is somewhat diverse. For rock lovers must accept the fact that Linkin Park has ideas and concepts that are almost the same as Coldplay. The music is more contemporary. Linkin Park's music genre is an alternative rock, rap rock, nu-metal and also electronic rock. Some of Linkin Park's masterpieces such as Numb (Collison Course album) and Papercut (Hybrid Theory album) are a type of rap rock music from Linkin Park and are very worldwide. There is also In the end (Hybrid Theory album) for alternative rock type, while Waiting for the End (abum A Thousand Suns), and War (Hunting Party album) play hard rock rhythm. All the music is a strong rock stream but not a hard stream like metal, which is why Linkin Park is nicknamed as a band that carries nu-metal or new music in the metal genre.

In the album "One More Light", Linkin Park present shocking rock world with the type of pop rock and electro pop music. Okay for pop rock. but electro pop like the song "Heavy (feat Kiara)" or "Nobody Can Safe Me" ?????? Really unexpected !! So remember the single "One More Light" has a slow rock element then it will be the topic of review this time.

Music:

The initial rhythm of this song is a combination of guitar and piano. By still presenting the strains of guitar as the opening music, in my opinion, the flow of music special single "One More Light" is very melow or too sad. But for those of us who often hear some slow rock band will certainly still love this song because of the soft guitar element.

However, Brad Delson (lead guitar of Linkin Park) and Mike Shinoda managed to play the nuances of the guitar in melodies and confused the fans. Brad Delson stated that he played many guitar chords on this album with many different guitars. In fact, if we do not listen to the tone or sound of the guitar or drum beat at the beginning of the song as in the general rock music, then he stated actually this song begins with the strains of a very soft guitar. To create that soft guitar tone, Brad has a great musician. Brad is very grateful to Ethan's enginer who works with Brad and Shinoda. To be honest, as a lover of guitars and rock music lovers I can feel the guitar passage on the opening of this song. Piano only as musical accompaniment throughout the song.

I really enjoyed the peak of this song's music on 3:04 - 3:27 pm when Linkin Park let the strains of the instrument ring in the ears. I think this instrument is a composition of guitar passages made as smooth as possible so it sounds in tune with piano music. Crazy !!!! Honestly, the instrument is very shady. Calm. Perfect. The value of 9 for a band equivalent to Linkin Park is able to create a rhythm of that rhythm when compared to almost all the hard rock songs that had been sung. Chester, you rock. Greta Job, Chester Bennington. However, when a band tries something new or different from the flow of music, it will definitely have a big impact on the vocalist. The song is the proof that Bennington made music as his life. He does not see what he likes anymore, but at this age, Bennington more meld with Linkin Park's music on the latest album. I'm comfortable listening to Bennington singing quietly like this.

When this article was created, a video clip of this song has not been created. but you can watch live music from this song on the "Linkin Park Perfoms:" video on Jimmy Kimmel Live's channel. Each of us who watch the video will be touched by the appreciation of Bennington, and can see the guitar is an important component d this song (although not as smooth as recording).

Lyrics:

Each lyric of "One More Light" tells of loss and concern, both horizontally (spouse, brother, best friend) and vertical (parent, boss). Remembering that the "One More Light" on Jimmy Kimmel's youtube channel is very sad because Bennington is in a state of grief.

The first verse "One More Light" describes someone who is concerned about the circumstances (who are actually missing something). There is a desire to help not to hurt anymore and to advise that there is something we can have but can not get together forever.

The first verse "One More Light" describes someone who is concerned about the circumstances (who are actually missing something). There is a desire to help not to hurt anymore and to advise that there is something we can have but can not get together forever.

It is very deep in its meaning because it teaches us that we can lose anything anytime. I grasped another meaning in the lyrics .We saw brilliance, when the world, was asleep .. The world that was asleep was like a paralyzed and bleak state. Usually in the western world, do not fall asleep while the world is asleep. But do something. And this happens in this lyrics where the narrator with someone he loves has seen beautiful things when the world is asleep.

The reff part of this song is about how we are present and become people who care about the surrounding circumstances. Connecting from the first verse, if they (the world) say, who cares if one light dims among the million stars in the sky? Who cares when someone's time is up (someone dies)? Linkin Park invites us that we should be the ones who care about all that.

Chorus: If the say, who cares if one more light goes out? In a sky of a million stars .... Who cares if one more light goes out? Well I do.

Then in the second verse it tells the feeling of losing someone who ventures on different ways. Jolting the floor. In the kitchen, one more chair than you need, and you're angry, and you should be (and you're angry, and you should be so unfair).
Anger in the kitchen when you see something that is not appropriate is an emotional outlet, possibly in the presence of feelings of sadness or deep disappointment.
"Just cause you can not see it, does not mean it, is not there (just because you can not see it, it does not mean, it does not exist)." This is the deep lyrics in the second verse of the song "One More Light". Through this lyric LP provides a discourse, and usually this sentence is used to encourage someone who is in a state of grief.

After trying to understand deeper the lyrics of the song from beginning to end, it is clear that this songwriter asks us to be a sad and not dramatic person when we lose something. Not when we have lost something or someone then no one else will notice us. Do not be a sad person and then wreak it around us. But look there are people who care and want to help us to not hurt anymore. When one more light goes out, there are many million stars are staring at you. Open your eyes.
