The Hateful Eight(2015) Directed by Quentin Tarantino REVIEW
Tarantino: blood, violence, twists, carefully constructed characters and a great way to tell a story. With films like Reservoir Dogs (1992), Pulp Fiction (1994), Kill Bill (2003), acclaimed by critics and spectators, Quentin Tarantino was labeled as a director who makes quality entertainment. The Hateful Eight (2015) is the second western after Django Unchained (2012).
Great movie from the first minute, with a frame with a statue of Jesus crucified on the cross in a snowy area, hill. The images are accompanied by a song that tends to horror / thriller (inspired by the movie The Thing – 1982 r. John Carpenter), composed by maestro Ennio Morricone, This is not the first collaboration with Tarantino; He was composer The Good, the Bad and the ugly (1966, dir. Sergio Leone), once Upon a Time in America (1984, dir. Sergio Leone), The Legend of 1900 (1998, dir. Giuseppe Tornatore).
The movie WON the Oscar 2016 - Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Ennio Morricone
With such a beginning, there is a great curiosity to know the story of the film.
In this snowy area, a carriage is trying to find its way. The carriage belongs to bounty hunter John Ruth (Kurt Russell), who goes to the city of Red Rock to receive $ 10,000 reward for his prisoner, Daisy Domergue (Jennifer Jason Leigh). Along the way they meet another bounty hunter, Major Marquis Warren (Samuel L. Jackson), and Chris Mannix (Walton Goggins), who claims to have arrive in Red Rock to be called the sheriff.
Major Marquis Warren (Samuel L. Jackson)
In a storm, these four, with coachman named O.B Jackson, are forced to make a stop at Minnie's gallantry. To his surprise Warren, who knew the place, haberdashery dealing a Mexican named Bob (Demián Bichir), who says Minnie is gone. Inside awaits Oswaldo Mobray (Tim Roth), Joe Gage (Michael Madsen) and General Sandy Smithers (Bruce Dern). Although each tells his story, Warren believe that someone is there to save the wicked Domergue and becomes vigilant.
From this point, the film becomes more alert. No one can trust anyone. It reminds me of a game called Town of Salem, where there are citizens and mafia. Citizens need to know who are away and hang mobsters and mob should kill the citizens. Nobody knows what role have the others. The game is a psychological one, because you have to talk to other players and convince them that you are for the right (whether you are a citizen, whether you are a mafia). The same happens in The Hateful Eight, just as decisions are made by director-screenwriter Quentin Tarantino, and you, as a viewer, you can admire the ingenuity scenario.
Tarantino & The Hateful Eight
A minus of the film the time - over 3 hours, so as to reach last very long carriage to haberdashery. It is brought smoothly to 2 ½ hours. It is, however, a snag over who can overlook that Tarantino brings something new. We will see more violence and blood (special effects Greg Nicotero was busy, who worked on The Walking Dead). The characters are very charismatic, dialogues not very deep, but very pleasant and fun. Twists are full. Besides all this, the new item is the comic. The film is very funny, almost written as a comedy. Often happened to me was laughter in cinema, but The Hateful Eight was even humorous. It has comic situation (Domergue has no stress as to be hanged), language (especially jokes about blacks), character (almost all the characters are built to be funny in one way or another).
Worth mentioning are the performances of Jennifer Jason Leigh and Tim Roth. Jennifer Jason Leigh was incredible in the role of Daisy transposed Domergue. It is very charismatic and look forward to each sequence, especially because it is unpredictable. Expressions and gestures, they play a phlegmatic character and a little crazy. Tim Roth (Oswaldo Mobray), on the contrary, play a character trying to fit in and keep the situation under control. His character speaks quickly and smiles all the time. Reminded me of Christoph Waltz in Inglourious Basterds in some sequences.
Really nice. I've been thinking about doing some reviews myself.
Keep up the good work! We need more entertainment on Steemit! ^^ =)
Thank you! Have a nice day! :)
