I have been researching a lot about various mining options and cloud mining alternatives lately, and one of the best free alternatives I have come across is NiceHash Miner.

Previous version, now called NiceHash Miner Legacy, was giving far better results than any of the other console mining options I tried (specially mining for CryptoNight, in my experience the most stable alternative with the highest hashing capacity), and allowed my computer to run multiple instances of the program to mine as much juice out my setup as possible.
However each instance halved the hashing power available, so I found that a maximum of three instances on my 4 Gb RAM graphics card was optimal.
The new version has an improved GUI (Graphical user interface) and autoselects the optimal mining algorithm for your GPU/CPU. It features automatic payouts from 0.001 BTC and allows you to configure additional advanced settings in the programs config files.
