VA-11 HALL-A. Cyberpunk Bartender Action, or more like "Drunks of the future"? #Review

Hellohello~ to the whole Steem community, today as you will see for the title I want to talk about a game that I was playing these last days that almost didn't let me leave  the screen.

VA-11 HALL-A. Cyberpunk Bartender Action, also for affection and easier pronunciation "Valhalla".

Searching at youtube more information of the whole wave of 8/16bits that I sincerely love and more things of this style I came across a video of "top 8 of Pixel art games". Being honest, I am not a person that play many video games tho, most current/classic titles I don't know. I do not own any consoles and I didn't was the type who asked for these kind of stuff as a Christmas gift (?) It's true that there are some that catch my attention but no more of that.

What is worth mentioning is that I have been an unstoppable player of the Pokemon Games since years ago my sister Alejandra brought me thank to the recommendation of a neighbor the Game Boy Advance emulator with the game of "Pokemon Red". I was already quite a fan of the anime, and since I knew about the whole franchise of games that it has I been in love, so far I have played all generations except since the sixth onwards that went out for 3ds </3

I always liked Atari games and variants old school forever

If you are attracted to everything related to Anime, Waifus, technology and visual novel, this game "Valhalla" is the perfect combination of everything mentioned before.

Looking for more information about the game the first thing that caught my attention was his cyberpunk art style as as the name mentions it, the Japanese PC-98 aesthetics, the plot... But what made me decide to try it is that it is developed by two Venezuelans (Written and programmed by Ironic Lark and the art realized by Kikirin51) under the name of Sukeban Games. Definetly it motivated me and as I went progressing into the story more and more I was so proud of this fact.

The demo was first released in itch.io, then released by Ysbyrd Games and marketed on Steam for 15$.

The story is based on the life of Jill Stingray, a 27-year-old girl who works as a Bartender in the small Va-11 Hall-a bar located in the post-distopic Glitch city, governed by corruption. You basically in a period of 19 days will have to serve drinks to your clients who escape a while from their harsh reality while you listen to their stories.

One of the things that I do love about this game is the soundtracks, it's AMAZING

Despite this small summary I could say that this is not a game for everyone and has a fairly marked audience (maybe this is the pillar of the game)

Playing it is quite simple and intuitive, taking into account that it's only about interactions for being more than anything a visual novel.

The character design are wonderful tbh

As you get to know them you even get to know your client's favorite drink before they mention it, how to prepare it with your eyes closed, you really get fond of them. Also you will get to know about Jill's past and its history.

According to the service you provide and how you treat your customers is very important, because due to this it will guide youto  one of the 6 alternative endings.

Mainly their characters make winks related to anime, cyberpunk culture, where humanoids, artificial intelligence and more is part of the life, where jobs that already in a future as it is to be a Mercenary on the payroll is completely normal, robotic implants are the best alternative in health and so on.

The way in which the union between Robots with artificial intelligence (Lilims) is developed fills us with that futuristic hypothesis where everything will be so advanced that it seems as if it had always belonged to our life. Undoubtedly it is a store that emanates humanity, mixed with touches of humor. I must say that the political references taken as an inspiration to what happens in Glitch City based my country Venezuela are a bit bittersweet. Social criticism, trivialities, also topics like love, sex and much more are also touched with some depth here.

For this and many more details that  this game has and I haven't mentioned, I give my most sincere recommendation. It is worth to play.

Let me know if you have played it before and please please please if you know abou more games like this type (pixel art, 8/16 bits and visual novels) give me your recomentations in the comments below.

Without more to add, until the next post. <3
