Passive Resistance

On the day of his birth, October 2, 59 years after his death, on June 15, 2007, the United Nations General Assembly unanimously announces the "World Day of Violence".

His real name is Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. He takes the name of "Mahatma" which means "supreme soul".

Concepts such as non-violence, vegetarianism, personal welfare, mutual tolerance among different beliefs are learned from a mother who is a religious (Hindu) woman in childhood.

South Africa was part of the Great Britain Empire in those years. Gandhi witnesses discrimination applied to Indian citizens here, and he is one of those who is subjected to this discrimination. South Africa is organizing the people against the discriminatory laws imposed against Indian citizens by the laws and initiating passive resistance.

The government wants to register Indian citizens. Passive resistance includes various acts, such as refusing to register, strike, and so forth, without any act of violence. During the movement, many Indians are imprisoned, shot, flogged; This movement, which has been suppressed in great proportions afterwards, makes sound for the first time in public. Many people condemn what the South African government is doing, and this post-election government is sitting on the table to reconcile with Gandhi.
