Remember Death

عن ابن عمر أنه قال: كنت مع رسول الله -صلى الله عليه وسلم- فجاءه رجل من الأنصار فسلم على النبى -صلى الله عليه وسلم- ثم قال: يا رسول الله أى المؤمنين أفضل قال: «أحسنهم خلقا». قال فأى المؤمنين أكيس قال: «أكثرهم للموت ذكرا وأحسنهم لما بعده استعدادا أولئك الأكياس»

from Ibn 'Umar, he said, "I was with the Messenger of Allah, and Anshor came to him, he greeted and asked," O Messenger of Allah, what is the best believer? "He said," The most good akhlaknya. "" Then mukmin is the most intelligent? ", he asked again. he said, "The most reminiscent of death and the best in preparing for the next, that is the most intelligent." (Narrated by Ibn Majah 4259).

Remembering death helps us in khusyu 'in prayer. Rasulullah Saw. said,

اذكر الموت فى صلاتك فإن الرجل إذا ذكر الموت فى صلاته فحرى أن يحسن صلاته وال صلاة رجل لا يظن أنه يصلى صلاة غيرها وإياك وكل أمر يعتذر منه.

"Remember the death in your prayer because if someone remembers death in his prayer, he will honor his prayer. pray like a prayer who does not think that he still have a chance to perform other prayers. Be careful with the case that you may ask for udzur (meralatnya) (because it can not fulfill it). "(HR Ad Dailami)

remembering death will make a person improve his life. Rasulullah Saw. said,

أكثروا ذكر هاذم اللذات فإنه ما ذكره أحد فى ضيق من العيش إلا وسعه عليه ولا فى سعة إلا ضيقه عليه.

"Many multiply remember the breaker of delicacy (ie death) because if a person remembers when his life is narrow, then he will feel roomy and if someone remembers it when his life is airy, then he will not be deceived with the world (thus neglecting to the afterlife)" (HRibnu Hibban and Al Baihaqi).
