do you really know God?

sometimes i ask myself do we really know God? do Nigerians in particular really know God or we are just recognizing the fact that God exist and nothing more to that. my reason for saying this is that, overtime i have taken time to reflect on our lives here particularly in Nigeria and i have noticed that we pray fervently, we fast,we do all sorts of religious activities but yet they are not reflecting in our daily life's. i noticed a scenario of a religious woman who attends vigil regularly, prays, fast does all sort of religious activities and is always at the front seat in church.An event occurred at a market place which involves the woman and a young man, the young man was just passing by the shop of the woman when all of a sudden he mistakenly fell a flower vase while trying to walk by it and all of a sudden the flower vase broke and in the process it injured the foot of the man, then all of a sudden the woman flamed up and started reigning curses on the man without taking into consideration that the vase injured the man, all what she was after was her vase and how much its worth, remember it was this same woman that goes to church , pray, fast and carry out various religious activities yet it does not reflect in her daily life. Now going by the story i just told lets journey back to those living abroad e.g Canada, USA, England, Italy etc majority of the people in this country i mentioned don't go to church, they are not very religious, they live an almost layman life.Now bringing the scenario of the flower vase i made mention previously, similar event occurred in Canada involving a black man and a shop owner, when this same even happened the first thing the shop attendant said to the man is " are you hurt?" and out of fear the man started pleading for forgiveness only for the shop attendant to tell him that as long as he is not hurt, he can go , that the vase that got broken can be replaced with ease.in essence this shop owner put the life of this young man first at heart before the broken vase, yet they are not the religious type but they know God. So my dear people God has made everything available to us in order that we may know him and do the things he expects of us, is not only when you pray and pray and pray yet no result then you start blaming God for your mishaps, take out time today to know your creator.if we take these two events into deep consideration , we will notice that so many of us we claim to know God but in the real sense of it we don't. lets take out time to reflect on our life and dig deep into Gods word so we may know him fully
and not recognize him as the case may be.
