Hi Steemit users! First of all I wanna say, I'm an atheist and when I say "favourite quotes", I mean the most ridiculous and savage quotes, so keep that in mind if you don't wanna get "offended" or something.

I've been planning this post for quite a long time, because I didn't want it to be offensive or ridiculing the issue, because I really want to encourage Christians and other bellievers to know their religions and think critically about it, however I know some believers, that get offended, when I just try to talk about religion in any way, so I put the disclaimer up here. FYI, I'm not kind of an atheist, that will argue believers and won't stop at nothing to "convert" them, I've been through this already and now, even when I argue, all I wanna do is encourage the person to think critically and I point out illogical and bad things in their belief system.

So after this long introduction, let's get to the main topic: My favourite Bible quotes with commentary ( they're not in any particular order)

1.Leviticus 15:19-30 Menstruation is unclean

19.When a woman has her regular flow of blood, the impurity of her monthly period will last seven days, and anyone who touches her will be unclean till evening.‘
20.Anything she lies on during her period will be unclean, and anything she sits on will be unclean.
21Anyone who touches her bed will be unclean; they must wash their clothes and bathe with water, and they will be unclean till evening.
22Anyone who touches anything she sits on will be unclean; they must wash their clothes and bathe with water, and they will be unclean till evening.
23Whether it is the bed or anything she was sitting on, when anyone touches it, they will be unclean till evening.
24“ ‘If a man has sexual relations with her and her monthly flow touches him, he will be unclean for seven days; any bed he lies on will be unclean.
25“ ‘When a woman has a discharge of blood for many days at a time other than her monthly period or has a discharge that continues beyond her period, she will be unclean as long as she has the discharge, just as in the days of her period.
26Any bed she lies on while her discharge continues will be unclean, as is her bed during her monthly period, and anything she sits on will be unclean, as during her period.
27Anyone who touches them will be unclean; they must wash their clothes and bathe with water, and they will be unclean till evening.
28“ ‘When she is cleansed from her discharge, she must count off seven days, and after that she will be ceremonially clean.
29On the eighth day she must take two doves or two young pigeons and bring them to the priest at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
30The priest is to sacrifice one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering. In this way he will make atonement for her before the Lord for the uncleanness of her discharge.

First of all, this is very sexist. The whole Bible is, every time it mentions women, they're reffered to as less privileged than men and with many more restrictions(For example 1 Timothy 2:9). This is one of the reasons, why so many innocent women was killed in the Middle Ages. People used to follow this all as an ultimate guidline from God.
It's also lacking basic knowledge about human body. They thought, a period is some kind of God's curse, which of course science has proven wrong

2. Numbers 15:32-36 Gathering wood on Sabath? Yo dead bruh.

32While the Israelites were in the wilderness, a man was found gathering wood on the Sabbath day.
33Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron and the whole assembly,
34and they kept him in custody, because it was not clear what should be done to him.
35Then the Lord said to Moses, “The man must die. The whole assembly must stone him outside the camp.”
36So the assembly took him outside the camp and stoned him to death, as the Lord commanded Moses.

Yeah, that's this gracious and loving God, everyone is talking about

3.Leviticus 20:13 Homophobia

13“ ‘If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

Westboro Baptist Church are a bunch of assholes, but they're at least right about what's in the Bible.

4.Genesis 6:6-7

6.The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled.
7.So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.”

There would be nothing wrong about it (except of course "wiping the human race") if there was no 1 Samuel 15:29:

29.He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie or change his mind; for he is not a human being, that he should change his mind.”

So he changed his mind and doesn't change his mind at the same time, but that's only the top of problems here. First of all, God, who's reffered to as "all-knowing" can't really regret something, that he's done, because regreting includes by definition lack of knowing the consequences, which with all-knowing God can't be a thing, what leads us to the next problem. If God created humans, he could make them exactly what he wants them to be, he could give them the exact features, that he thought are the best, but it appears, that he didn't and in addition, he's mad at people for being just the way he created them and eventually kills them for that, which he knew, will be happening at the very beginning. What kind of God is that?

5. Matthew 4:8 The Earth is flat

8.Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.

You can't possibly go to a top of any mountain and see all the kingdoms of the world at the same time. It's just impossible.Sorry flat earthers, that's where this theory came from.
