Hahahaha! It's actually more symbolic than seems at first sight, as every religion is nothing more than worshiping the sun.

Oh, you decided to unleash some atheist fury you infidel?

I would add to this picture belief in the government, belief in love, belief in one's country, astronomy, psychology, acupuncture, homeopathy, and especially

I'd think there are some nuanced differences in them though..

meh, same thing can be said about the invisible people in the sky. the point is that most of the concepts that encompass these beliefs are make-believe — mostly products of group ideologies that have no basis in reality.

We know for a fact for example that a priest can "cure" someone who is troubled psychologically as much as a "psychologist". A pet can do the same thing. No statistical significance on the impact. Yet, we "believe" that one works and another doesn't.

same applies with sacrificing virgins to make it rain. Sometimes when the sacrifice rhymes by coincidence then the belief takes root. when it doesn't, it was another factor.

heck we can see it even here on Steemit. When China money flooded the market the Steem price rode the wave but some people said that some things were working and could explain the influx of users and rise of price.

The fallacy of religion is a generic one. People believe because they want to believe.

Awesome post. I truly get this. "Growing Up" is a stage where you finally realize all "religions" are human-made. GOD itself is in ALL OF US. Collectively, we all as human and it's related nature together is what we regard as GOD. God is in you. GOD is you. As an example, In the Bible or the Quran etc, it is mentioned - If you can forgive yourself, GOD forgives you. It's a metaphor for what's in you. God isn't this being up in the sky. One day, when you "wake up" you will realize this. I am not dismissing the Books of religion either, i see it more of a guideline for you. Guideline to be a good human being...but many have misinterpreted it, and believes this GOD we speak is this thing in the sky "managing" us. I hope i dont offend anyone here. This is just my believe and it makes so much sense once you open up your "eye".

Well not sure why the word is needed, but anyway, thanks for your thoughts on it!

Welcomed. But by the Word..which one you meant

people who collect money and do the banking for the people in the sky xD

There's an important frame missing.

The one where you have to go kill those other people who have different beliefs.

For sure, although i think the current 9 frames is poetic enough :)

I grew up listening to George Carlin "albums".

He became more of a philosopher as he got older.

Wait is this about the anunnaki?!?! How all the the stories in the bible were written thousands of years before and from different cultures like the Veda's! How we are all one and should collectively come together! God( or whatever name you want to give the creator) is in all of us, not UP there in the clouds! hee great post!

To be honest, the Enki / Annunaki story is pretty fascinating!

Me too! I just don't know if I trust Zachariah sitchins interpretation of the tablets lol.Anu Enki and Enil all fascinating

I actually don't mind if there's an actual plot-twist of that magnitude to our human story lol

yeah, as per my comment above =)

Very true😛

Rather hard to believe but i know what you meant with the quote unquote "muslim".

In many places where religion is enforced, many muslims are only that on paper. They are pretty much as atheistic as the rest of us.

The way i see it, it is always good to have a healthy dose of uncertainty, the self-awareness that humanity don't know all and that there is no explanation good enough to explain everything. The most dangerous people are always those who claim 100% certainty in the way the world works.

Sometimes its better to acknowledge some things are better left unanswered and focus on what matters more.

The friend's in one of the top comments ;)
That's right, it goes both ways. I rather scientific methodologies be involved with our gaps of knowledge though, instead of supernatural explanations, but that's just my preference..

Ooooo, some sweet drama sauce there!!

Absolutely agree with your way of thinking.

I think religion is a beautiful thing if you choose to believe in it or not. (it seems like a pretty good post idea for me to write about haha)

It is a mantra which carves peoples lives and their morals. Without religion guiding some people their life may be a mess. People find salvation, grace and solace in it and I say it is a wonderful thing if people choose to freely accept it and not have it forced on to people like we have in some countries and traditions.

Are you an atheist @kevinwong or do you believe in a higher being?

it is a wonderful thing if people choose to freely accept it and not have it forced on to people like we have in some countries and traditions.

Keypoint..

Personally, doesn't matter to me if there's a higher being. There are no masters, no slaves. That's what the last frame is about I think.

I guess that is the ultimate goal in life and hopefully we can reach this state of equality but it will require power shifts and us as humans to be more self sacrificing than narcissistic.
Hopefully collaborative commons is one way to path the path forward for equality.

Funny! I am an in-betweener. "People who claim to hear the voice of the Person that came to replace the Person who claim to have come from the sky". Rather convoluted, right? Yes, I am Christian, and the Holy Spirit is part of my life.

I remember PK, bollywood movie..
"There are two kinds of god, the one that made us and the one that we made"

That's a good movie

Yes.. agree
