A Godly Entrepreneur

Business and entrepreneurship differs distinctively such that, while business deals with the normal buying and selling processes which almost anyone can do to make profit for sustainability, entrepreneurship combines both business purpose and profit to achieve a defined goal while making money.

The one thing entrepreneurs do which the common businessmen don't, is that they creates a sense of purpose of existence in their minds through whatever business model they're working on. However, the sense of purpose is created when there is a defined goal.

The book of Revelation 4:11 states; “You are worthy Oh God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You have created all things for your pleasure”. God has created every human being for a purpose and there's always a feeling of fulfillment when your entrepreneurial dream is based on the purpose of God for you. This means that you must first believe that there's a purpose for which God created you and the you have to prayerfully and with sincere desire sought out what it is.

Joseph had a childhood dream which proved he was going to be ruler and he never forgot that dream. He had a dream but he needed to have goals to achieve those dreams.

A few of his goals were; obedience to his father Jacob, love for his brothers who didn't treat him well, commitment to his work in the house of Potipher who later made him the governor of his house, submission to the master of the prison where he was cast into.

These were qualities he took his time to build even when he was going through difficulties, until he finally became the ruler of Egypt which was at that time considered to be the world power and reliance of other nations.

Entrepreneurial journey begins with a defined goal of either your dream, something God has spoken about you (God's purpose for you), a problem you want to fix in the lives of people to the glory of God or a problem you want to fix in the world.

Once the dream, vision or end-goal is defined, the journey of setting goals begins. Dreams/visions without goals are just common talks that can't be executed. The dream is the big thing in your mind, the goals are the steps involved in bringing that big dream into the real world.

DREAMS: A dream from the entrepreneurial view, can be said to be a purpose which has been created in the mind of the entrepreneurs and understood by him such that it becomes a reason to live.

Now, everyone has a purpose of existence, the difference between the purpose of the entrepreneur and that of other people is that he wants to make a business (profit) from the activities involved in conveying that purpose to the people who it helps so that he can get it to more people and make more lives better to the glory and honor of God Almighty.
