HIGHER GROUND BY DISCIPLINE

To attain to higher ground in life there must be discipline; it is a good virtue that all Christian must imbibe to attain to greatness in life. Anybody who lacks discipline will lack destiny.
The level of your discipline determines the level of your greatness in life. What then is discipline?

• Discipline is the act of putting your flesh under subjection order to do what is right under pressure
• Discipline is the ability to do what you should do, when you should do it whether you feel like it or not.
• Discipline is also defined as self mastery. This is when you master your emotions, appetites and inclinations. People who lack to master their appetites become weak and dissolute as well as unreliable in other things as well.
• Discipline is self control. This is the ability to o control yourself and action to control what your do and say and ensure that your behavior are consistent with your long term goals and objectives is the mark of the superior
• Discipline is also known as self denial. It means you have den yourself the easy pleasures, the temptation that lead so many people astray an instead discipline yourself to do only those th8ings that you know are right for the long term and appropriate for the moment.
  Joseph had the opportunity to sleep with potiphar’s wife and remained a local champion, he will also jeopardize his destiny, but choose to do the right thing , he fled from potiphar’s wife and he end up a prisoner but God lift him up and he became a prime minister in a strange land. Daniel also refused the kings meat which other embraced, he and his friends were ten times better and Daniel became relevant throughout his generation. Samson refuse to denial himself, he prefer to sleep on the lap of Delilah so he lost his place in destiny. You cannot sleep on the lap of Delilah and expect to wake up at the bosom of Abraham
• Discipline is delayed gratification, the ability to put off satisfaction in the shorter in order to enjoy greater rewards in the long term.
  David and his men also kept themselves from sleeping with their wives and other women. This qualifies them to eat what is meant for the priest. When you delay your gratification through discipline, you will qualify for what other are not qualify for.
