THE HUMILITY

I will share these prayers and reflections that have changed my life as I consider it a great virtue that is receiving the gifts, fruits and wisdom: humility.

Prayer:
Lord at this time we prostrate before you, show us your love! Because we want to have your heart meek to have the grace of humility, aléjanos of pride to recognize our qualities, correct our shortcomings and to realize the Will of God in our life.

Help us to recognize the truth: that we are nothing but creatures of God, imperfect, needy, and that we fall again and again in sin.

help me not to feel the center of everything because we do not know to put ourselves in the place of our neighbor.

help me to be able to get out of myself and go to meet others, because you created us to need each other and to need your power and your glory.

Help us to serve others without waiting for any reward or to be praised for it and that every time we do something good we try to go unnoticed to the world.

Help us learn to get help from others, even if it costs me a lot of work, and to try to give thanks always, especially when the help comes from you..
Help us to try not to talk so much about myself and listen to more of the others, we want to observe, discover and appreciate the qualities of those around me such as: parents, siblings, relatives, coworkers, friends and enemies. We put our renewal in your hands as you sent your son Jesus Christ who gave himself up for us for our salvation.

Thank you, Lord, for showing us this new way today and for dealing deeply with my heart and defying me to live in humility by delivering all my pride in this place. I pray to God that in this community of Steetmit we can make ourselves the smallest before our eyes so that you can do with us great things, and thus give good fruits of salvation for ourselves and for our neighbor.

Reflections of humility

To have humility is to "confess" our sins against God, since all of us sin and are deprived of glory. However, very few of us comply with the routine of practicing a rigorous and honest personal exam. An essential practice of humility is to review our heart and our behavior weekly, or better daily, by adding the confession of our sins to God.

To have humility is to "recognize" the sins we commit against others, because the humiliation before God is not complete unless there is also humility in front of men. A real test of our will to humble ourselves is to be willing to share with others the weaknesses that we confess to God.

To have humility is to "confront" the bad patiently and I know this has been a difficulty for me. When something is unfair I want to react and rectify it. However, patiently responding to the unjust accusations and actions of others demonstrates the strength of our character and provides an opportunity to exercise humility.

To have humility is to "submit" to the authority... be good or bad! Our culture does not give value to submission, rather it promotes individualism. Do we deliberately and actively submit to those whom God has put as authorities in our lives? Doing this is a good way to humiliate yourself..

To have humility is to place us in a lower place. If I am willing to sit at the head of the table, wanting the others to recognize me, or offended me when others are honored or elected, it is because pride has sprouted. To have humility is to "associate" with people of a condition inferior to ours. The Pharisees mocked Jesus because he alternated with the poor and the inferior. Our culture is too concerned with status, and people naturally want to alternate with people who are in a higher condition. Resist the temptation to be biased with those who have higher status or more wealth.

If you think that when you do some good is to give glory to yourself, if you think of shining to dazzle other people and that the most important thing in life is to highlight through your prestige to obtain material goods and pleasure, remember that humans are if Mple planets which our light is a reflection of a great star and that Star is God.
