The Essence of Spiritual Warfare

2 Corinthians 10:3-5

3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war
after the flesh:
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal,
but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong
holds;)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing
that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God,
and bringing into captivity every thought to the
obedience of Christ;
6 And having in a readiness to revenge all
disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Our spiritual warfare is a thing that we encounter in the daily routines of our lives. Just as Adam and Eve were tricked by the serpent into disobedience to God, so are we attacked by the devil daily to also be disobedient to God. As we are going through the process of sanctification to be set aside by God for the glory of Christ, satan will come and lie about the promises of God, both the blessings of God and the warnings of God - satan will lie and try to trick us into sin and doubt.

Even Jesus was tempted after His fasting for 40 days and the devil used scripture to challenge Jesus, yet he distorted the scriptures and Jesus answered him back quoting proper Holy scripture. (Matthew 4) Therefore, it is essential that we study the word of God as part of our daily routines and through knowledgeable pastors that we may repel the devil with proper knowledge of the scriptures just as Jesus did. There is great power That God has given us through proper knowledge of the Holy scriptures.

We have a choice everyday and things come against us like self pity, but we can overcome with the word of God...

Proverbs 3:5-13

5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean
not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall
direct thy paths.
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and
depart from evil.
8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy
bones.
9 Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the
firstfruits of all thine increase:
10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy
presses shall burst out with new wine.
11 My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord;
neither be weary of his correction:
12 For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as
a father the son in whom he delighteth.
13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man
that getteth understanding.

Psalm 14:1-5

1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.
They are corrupt, they have done abominable works,
there is none that doeth good.
2 The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children
of men, to see if there were any that did understand,
and seek God.
3 They are all gone aside, they are all together
become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no,
not one.
4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who
eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon
the Lord.
5 There were they in great fear: for God is in the
generation of the righteous.

Romans 3:21-26

21 But now the righteousness of God without the law
is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the
prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith
of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that
believe: for there is no difference:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory
of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the
redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation
through faith in his blood, to declare his
righteousness for the remission of sins that are
past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness:
that he might be just, and the justifier of him
which believeth in Jesus.
