Teach the children!
The children, they are the future. The way we teach them, are the way they will be when they grow up. Surely they can make their own choices, but it all depends on us to show them what the difference is between the right and wrong choices.
From the early stages in our lives, we get taught the basics in life, how to write, how to talk, how to walk etc. But what if we didn't learn that stuff?
People forget how fortunate they are to do all that stuff, because their are people out their that are in their elderly times, that can't write, read, or even speak.
God expects parents to be a godly example in their words and actions.
Deuteronomy 6 : 6-7
"These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up."
What is the best way to teach children?
Discipline is used to express the love of the parents. Children may not understand why they are needed to be disciplined, but later in life they will see that it was a lesson. As we grow up, we learn something everyday.
Proverbs 13 : 24
"If you refuse to discipline your son, it proves you don't love him; for if you love him, you will be prompt to punish him."
Children are here to take over when we are gone, they are the future and God has it planned. The next generation will make a difference. We always struggle to think how will the next generation take everything, but we have to trust in God. He has it all planned out!
My brother was just talking to me about this. We were discussing how it's not just a promise, but a warning. To be careful what you are teaching. For example, if I am a parent, my kid is always watching me and learning from me.
you are right @brotherbear! It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves, that will make them successful human being.
