Why do people read a bible?

In my own opinion, bible is nothing then just a book of violence, rape, murder and every possible stuff that comes from human race at the lowest.

What is it about it? Why so many people quote the bible? Why people are saying " If you read the bible you will know it"? Know what? Isn't this just mass brain washed human race that lives of this?

Many people never read it, and in the eyes of "God" they still live, exist? Sometimes I wonder if this humanity will ever find something else to argue about, apart from religion, race, gender, beliefs?
