Life Is Not A Movie You Can Pause

in #relationship7 years ago (edited)

It's 3am Nigerian time, I'm on my bed wide awake. Engulfed by the solemn silence, wondering where I went wrong and why Alex had to leave. What right does he have to leave and come back at will, and what is wrong with me that I keep taking him back despite the hurt it comes with it?
You can't leave my life and come back like nothing happened, are you delusional?

This brings me to my post, you see, in relationships, not everything is rosy, most times you compromise a lot just to keep a relationship. Relationships are not easy to build, it takes two adults who are ready to tolerate each other to build a strong relationship.

But sometimes people get tired of putting up with the other person just because they love them, people get tired of loving someone who has nothing to offer, people get tired of being a nuisance to the other person, people get tired of pretending to love someone they had stopped loving a long time ago... and so on. A lot of reasons lead to breakups, some could be ugly and some mild. But whatever the case, breakups happen anyway.

So why do people go back to their exes? Why is it so hard to move on?
Alright, these questions are rhetorical.
There's no logical reason to go back to an ex that treated you like scum and pushed you beyond limits, but this doesn't stop us from going back to our exes does it? Nope. Not for everyone.
Before you leave a relationship, be sure that your reasons are worth it and you won't go back whatsoever

It is WRONG!!!

I'm shouting from the roof top! It's wrong to leave people's lives at a time where they need you the most, leaving them broken and shattered, leaving them in inexplicable hurt and then just when they're able to gather the broken pieces of their lives and move on, you barge back into their lives, rendering very non-plausible explanations and apologies that should be reserved for your ears only.

It is wrong to play with people's emotions and feelings because they decided to love you.

It's wrong to hurt someone who loves you and then go ahead to recite the old mantra of how "those who you love the most hurt you the most". It is wrong.

Do you ever, for once stop to consider the other party? Do you consider the fact that they're human too and have blood flowing through their veins? No you don't.

You're self-centered.

People's lives are not movies you can watch whenever you wish and pause to go about your business, then whenever you remember, you play it and continue from where you stopped. No, you don't do that.

There are a lot of games out there for you to play, don't play with human emotions.
Next time you're leaving a relationship, be sure about it. Don't turn back when the other person must have moved on. There's no sense in that
