Relationship requires trust and for any relationship to work, it requires total trust in each other. For you to be considering double dating then you don't trust or really want the person you are dating initially. And if you don't want the person why not end the relationship and move on to the person you are planning to double date with.

Morally it's not good and if you are in a double relationship you will be considered weak. Relationship is meant for you and your spouse alone without involving a third party. Anything outside you and the person is considered cheating if you are planning to date someone else. I will strongly advice you not to double date.
