As soon as a couple gets down to the business of living together as husband and wife, they often discover that the two of them may not see everything in the same perspective. Efforts most times from the wife, to persuade her partner to understand and act in certain ways are seen and termed as nagging by the other as long as he is not willing to abide by the standard or perspective of the partner. Find out the cause:
If you notice that your partner suddenly started nagging, you need to sincerely think about what may have likely caused her change in mood. You will discover in most cases that she has been irritated by your action, and if not nipped in bud may degenerate into bigger issues. For instance, you promised your wife that you will be home by 5 pm but forgot to inform her about the emergency meeting that came up in your office, your unhappy wife would be ready to nag by time you return home tired and hungry. In such situation, accepting responsibilities for your inaction will likely solve the problem. Tell her the truth and apologize for your forgetfulness. Although she may continue to let off some steam, she will calm down once she understands that you are actually telling her the truth and have accepted your fault.

Avoid harsh words:
When met by a nagging wife, most men usually try to deal with it the same way they would deal with any hostile confrontation outside their home. They engage in exchange of angry words, charges and counter-charges against their wife, which may eventually make their life miserable. Since women don’t like to lose in war of words, they would say any annoying word just to win the argument and consequently escalate the issue. It is rather best to meet your nagging wife calmly and let her know that you are willing to discuss the points of conflict.

Consider different perspectives of the same issue:
The fact that you both have varying background and upbringing is enough to tell you that both of you may not share the same perspective in everything. The willingness to accommodate each other’s view before seeking a balance will certainly stop her from nagging, as nagging is one of the easiest ways most women use to register their displeasure and grievance.

It is equally better to motivate your wife to air her view and concern over any issue than keeping them to herself, as it may indirectly make her to nag.
