As a teenager or young adult, make it a priority to inform your parents especially your mum when your friendship with a member of the opposite sex is getting close. Never have secret dates.

It is said that what an elder can see while sitting down, a youth may not see it while standing up. When you bring your friends home, that will give your parents an opportunity to monitor and advise you about them. When you start a relationship, especially the first one, your lack of knowledge with the opposite sex could be a source of vulnerability.
