Stop searching for your Soulmate... and start looking for your Soul, mate.
The only way you will ever attract someone worth spending a lifetime with is if you develop and build yourself first. The only way you will ever get a relationship that truly thrives, soars, replenishes itself and truly takes your breath away is if you get really honest about what it is you want in life, go full speed ahead towards it and give it all of you.
You have to be willing to enjoy your own company first. Get crazy passionate about things that interest you. Spend this time that you have by yourself to really develop yourself. This is the only way another person can fall for you – most people are looking for someone truly fascinating to them. You could be total opposites in what your strenghts are but you have to have a little something of your own – something you will be able to share and contribute to the relationship. There is nothing more intimate than a deep and fulfilling conversation. Of course, a lot of people want to have a relationship just for the sake of having one, and they think that this will fulfill them and make them happy. But if you put all the cards of your happiness and fulfillment in another person, it will be taken away from you – it is just the matter of time. Build your base solid and strong – and base it in yourself. Following your Soul’s calling will be more fulfilling than any relationship that you could ever have. And as a bonus to following your calling you will get a relationship that truly compliments it and you can share the joy with the other person in a deeply sustainable way.
Ask yourself – what is it that I really want ? What areas could I improve in my life? Is it my health, is it the way I spend my free time? Do I work too much and enjoy too little? Or do I party too much and build too little? Do I need more nature time? Do I need to find something that I like doing?
Life is a balance of work, play and rest. Work being also actions towards your passions – fitness, photography, poetry, science, volunteering, studying, saving the whales – whatever it is, you have to be willing to put in the work.
Maybe you already are really close to the person that you truly wish to be and you are going full speed ahead already and you simply can’t wait to share all the joy with another Soul. If this is the case, put yourself out there, start opening up to different groups of people about what you like, share your interests with the world, take some action in the direction you really believe in and feel a pull towards. In this way, first, you will have a great time. Second, you will be noticeable to your ideal partner who is interested in the same or complimentary things and you can finally meet each other, experience that sense of true union, compassion, understanding, love and passion. And you can then build a joyful life together.
