Whats the deal with the Regressive Left and Religion, particularly their defense on islam. Arent the left supposed to be atheists? Do you all think they actually understand religion or are they confusing race and cultural issues.
Well I can't put words in other peoples mouthes but my take on it is that part of the reason the Regressive left defends Islam is that it sets off a lot of patterns for them, muslims tend to be nonwhite, tend to be poor, tend to live in underdeveloped countries that were exploited by the west. They see bigotry aimed at American Muslims or the idea of Islam in general, and that bigotry scares them so much, they refuse to admit Islamic thought is capable of holding sacred the exact values the left is most against, sexism, homophobia, tolerence. They will not admit that the religion of Islam is clarly sometimes a negative force when it comes to civilizing some societies, however they have no problem pointing out everything wrong with Christianity. I think its misplaced guilt and not wanting to enable biggots who they think might not be able to make the distinction between the phrases "some muslims" and "all muslims"
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I just find the regressive left quite crazy almost all the time. I have also noticed with the regressive left , There is this Oppression pyramid, the muslims are on the top above the well being of gays, blacks , asian etc. its very interesting to see how they use political correctness as a way of controlling peoples thoughts. i have also noticed the Regressive left especially view American Muslims as poor people, but most of those American muslims are either from Pakistan,India, Afghanistan etc , I do know many of the South East Asians tend to have a Higher per capita income than the Whites, Blacks and Hispanics.
