Article in the Jamaica Gleaner (Hospitality Jamaica) mention Westmoreland Hemp and Ganja Farmers Association (WHAGFA)

in #reggaesteem5 years ago

For those who don't know Whagfa is the farmers organization that I currently chair.

I think some of the ideas in this article germinated from talks I had with this guy at CanEX Jamica Business Conference and Expo held in Montego Bay a week ago

We spoke at length about how to make sure that the people that kept this industry going despite all the beating, arrest, and abuse they suffered from the hands of the state and society for believing in the sacramental and economic value of plant they call Ganja, herb, weed etc.

Times have changed and the interest shown by all these people at Whagfa Stall is a testament to the growing acceptance of Ganja in our society.

How can ReggaeSteem help to make the dream of the above mentioned people to be a stakeholder in this new developing industry and to prevent it from been another like the sugar?

The answer is tokenization weather ReggaeSteem Token, Whagfa Token.

How is Jamaica doing on that front? Well, the Jamaica Stock Exchange is moving full speed ahead. They said at an investment forum that they should be ready before year end. However I am somewhat concern about the high level of regulations they seems to be putting in and investor will still have to be approved by bankers/brokers. What will be the requirement , not known as yet

The Jamaica Stock Exchange is one of the most regulated in the World. It has been rated by Bloomberg Magazine as the number one stock exchange in the World for the past five (5) years. I think they are going to push regulation to the max so they can try and maintain their status..

excellent information and photographs the ganja is highly valued in Jamaica for its spiritual and sacramental meaning but its consumption is not yet completely allowed I think it allows to have only a maximum of 5 plants ..

The Ganja business can be good, but you should also invest in awareness propaganda of its use, many people have been victims of this herb due to its excessive or unconscious use, my latest publication has to do with this I say, if You want you can visit it and give your opinion, I will be grateful, every business thrives when you have the moral ahead, successful for this business. On the other hand, all of Jamaica can influence #reggaesteem, in fact, it is already doing so by allowing its first steps in popular trade.
