RE: Ask Me Anything About Steemit Wednesday (AMAWED) Exclusively For Newbies #3. Join Us From 10.30 AM (CET) Today.

Hello, @bollutech. Welcome to AMAWED! My response to your questions would be

  1. Having lots of steemit followers is good. However, it doesn't translate to the number of upvotes you will get. More so, the number of upvotes that you have doesn't translate to how much you'll get as payout after 7 days. In steemit, you have some followers that are dead followers, there are some that are ghost followers. These have only followed you, but they are not active followers, so it all depends on the kind of followers that you have attracted over time. This app created by @pilcrow and @sjennon would help you get a good insight into your question regarding followers.

  2. Well, minnows can overcome the challenges facing them, if they first study the challenges and understand them. Then they can now begin to search for solutions. I believe that there is no challenge or problem that does not have a solution. More often than not, the solution lies in the minnows looking for people, who can help them overcome their challenges. They could also look for other resources, (like posts of veteran Steemians, youtube videos, that can be of help. So, that is basically how I can answer your question . Moreover,it would be wise for minnows to look for someone who is knowledgeable about their problems or those who can help you look for somebody who can refer you to another person who could be of help. Alternatively, the minnow can write a post about the problem and wait for honest responses from other steemians. Personally, I did this in my early days in steemit. I still ask questions ask questions. Whenever, a minnow wants to use a post to ask direct questions, he should use the question tag , or steemit help tag, as first tag so that those who can help him will come to his aid.

  3. In the 6 months that I've been on steemit, I've not seen where one's reputation gets one's work resteemed. Creating and posting good content is what will make your work to be considered for resteem. Where reputation plays a role is this. The higher your reputation, the more visible your post would be. The lower your reputation, the less likely your post would be seen.

  4. Please, read @oluwoleolaide's very good response on mentorship.

  5. Minnows can recognize whales, judging from the vests /steem power that they have. So, basically a whale is a Steemian who has 1 billion vests /about 500 million steem power (SP). See witness @arcange's update 6 of steemitboard on the different classes of Steemians. As at today, there are only 41 steemit whales. The graph shown below was sourced from @arcange's daily steemit statistics report

Auntie lemme buttress on this ma:

@bollutech , getting mentors is not hard- listening to advise is that hardest!

I use to tell newbies what they should do in their first 2-3 weeks on Steemit; sadly few listen to you cos they look at your wallet and voting weight before they follow your instructions.

I have written blogs for a dozen of people and some in all their smartness go drop it in their blogs and editting the hell out of the original stories and end up not earning, indirectly saying they know more than me the content writer.

I advise people on topics to write on, and you will be shocked at what some people say about the topic i give them. So it is hard to be a mentor to someone who thinks his/her mentor is not smart enough.

From the few instances, you could see why many don't like to talk to minmows anymore!

Oh! Its more of likes for me to have a mentor ,i am eager to work ,inspired and inspire people too but my problem is who to guild me. Actually @honourmaus is really helping with his possible best ,yet i still find it more to meet someone that will guild me more and i promise to be ever loyal and listen sir.

Thanks

Okay sir, we have a session on Discord Steemchat.

Will message you with @oluwoleolaide or @steem-lagos in a short while

Wow ..... Thank you sir
I will login to check sir

This is so true. In fact, I don't need to respond anymore to @bollutech's question on mentorship. You've done justice to it. Thumbs up. Bravo, brother!!!

Hugging you ma'am....i can't wait to see you in Lagos

I can't wait to see you guys too. Hugs...

Bro, come and give me topics to write on o :(. Thank you for the engagement here.

@maryfavour, Jees! 500 mil——gini? Education is a continuous process. Thank God I am present to learn

@eurogee, Jeeez! Yes, $500 mil...Hahaaa...osuoya ni igbo ....gini? @Pharesim is a classic example of a steemit whale. He has 500,323.990 SP and 1,031million vests, which is a little over 1 billion. Check his profile on steemitboard.com and steemd.com. Such big fish hardly post. They are curators. When they visit you, you'll go and do thanksgiving in Church. Lol!

Education is a continuous process. Thank God I am present to learn

The day I stop learning is the day I start dying. I get to learn a lot even from newbies, not only from whales, orcas and dolphins. Trust me.

Actually , am after getting along with people who can help me , most especially those that have been in this community for over months to give me more advice and be my mentors.
I always ask questions to get ride of what am facing as obstacles and at times i see myself as a disturbance to @honourmaus though he never complain ,yet he do helps with his possible best which always get me in awe of the type he's .
I am glad you went this long time to provide an answers from your experience as a minnow which i will definitely work on soon and will be so much happy to tag @redfishpillar too.
Thank you so much am very happy to hear from you ma'am
