FUN WITH ROADKILL - AN INTRODUCTION
Turning a disaster into an opportunity.
If you are like most people, you really don't like seeing dead animals on the side of the road. Neither do I. Also, if you are like a lot of other people, you really want to recycle, and find ways to reduce and reuse. Unfortunately, we do not always have the opportunity to encourage others to reduce the amount of roadkill that they make, but we can still reuse the roadkill. Also, we can practice a type of recycling commonly referred to as upcycling.
It will be the purpose of this series to help you find creative ways to utilize the roadkill that you encounter to help make the world a better place for everyone.

BASIC CONCEPTS
This series has been many months in the making. I've got a lot going on, but want to continue to create innovative and cutting edge educational and inspirational posts to bless all of the world. I made the promo video above back in August and immediately got it loaded to YouTube.
I wanted to be able to catch the interest of people who enjoy this type of stuff on YouTube and attempt to attract them to steemit by giving them a small taste of just some of what we have to offer here. Additionally, I want to get this series started here on steemit, so that when this idea blows up big on the internet, everyone will not only associate it with @papa-pepper, but also with steemit.
I have collected some footage and roadkill to at least put out the first couple posts in this series, and I will be hard at work producing those for you to enjoy in the near future.
Simply put, I don't think that we will be able to convince people to stop driving vehicles. Basically, since the invention of the road, roadkill has been an issue. Unfortunately, too many people just avoid the unpleasant carcasses and leave them to rot and decay. However, as an avid recycler and also an upcycler, I do not believe that we should just overlook the bodies of animals that have been slain on the highway.
As always, if we truly want to make the world a better place, we need to "be the change that we want to see in the world." Remedying the woes that plague our planet must happen on an individual level, and I plan on being one of those individuals. Hopefully this series will be a blessing to many of you as I continue to share some practical tips and ideas for how to make the most of roadkill.

Awesome @papa-pepper ! Im really looking forward to this series and tips for what to do with them believe it or not ! LOL ! We see a lot of road kill traveling the mountain highway from Kelowna To Beaverdell British Columbia ( an hours drive in the country ) along with all the Deer that love darting out in front of our car ,Not to mention the odd Moose ! Seriously? Taking the spikes from a porkupine is your recommendation?
If you want to do something positive in regard of roadkill, then pick it up and throw it into the field or forest, away from the road. Because roadkill attracts scavengers, who then get run over as well. There are actually people who purposely run over animals on the side of the road, believe it or not. A lot of people do intentionally hit animals with vehicles, especially some reptiles. The purpose of this series is to show others how to use something that would otherwise be considered waste or garbage. I have long enjoyed some uses of porcupine quills and roadkill can be an easy way to obtain some.
Well, I'm not familiar with the uses of porcupine quills, since porcupines dont live here.
However, I think removing the body from the road is something you should mention, as it may well save the lives of other animals, like eagles, buzzards, foxes and so on. Everybody should have a army shovel and a plastic bag in the trunk for that purpose. It may come handy on other occassions, too.
Oh yeah, much like food scraps thrown from vehicles, road kill can draw a lot of scavengers to roadways. I fully agree that carcasses left to rot on the roadside can be an issue.

Glad that you do not recommend taking off your pants and beating roadkill with them. Haa haa! That had me and @jasonrussell cracking up! Our dog drug a skunk tail on our porch last night. Wonder what we can do with that? I also wonder where the rest of the skunk is ;) Maybe I'll make a custom skunk tail paintbrush for my artsy friend's Christmas present! Or do I dare?
That is a pretty good idea, you can certainly make your own post on roadkill recycling if you want to.

@papa-pepper this is a good program and campaign you have started. Many wild animals died through road kill.
Yes they do, but they need not be completely wasted.
Roadkill don't last down here long. The turkey vultures gobble it up fast.
