This Town Needs Guns - Animals

What do you get when you mix together guitars playing in odd time signatures, polymetric drumming, and Bayes non-negative matrix factorization? God damn math rock, that's what. And there's no better example than this album. Full of complex musicianship, relatable lyrics, and songs unsurprisingly named after animals, Animals is the 2008 debut effort of This Town Needs Guns out of the UK. Unfortunately, their lineup changed considerably and their next album wasn't nearly so good, in my opinion.  

Anyweeeeigh, this album will let you baffle your friends and family when the conversation turns to music:  Them: "What's your favorite song?" 

You: "Baboon." 

Them: ". . .baboon?" 

You: "Baboon."
