Things to do in Dominical Republic (Punta Cana)

Hey Guys,

I will be traveling to Punta Cana next week for 4 days. Any suggestions/recommendations/advice for do's and don't s?

Will it be advisable to rent a car and check out other parts of the country like Santo Domingo or just say put at Punta Cana and enjoy the beach and resort?
