Tres Leches Cake - simply, quickly, and deliciously!
My daughter, who is three years old, loves to make food with me, she especially likes to break eggs 😀 This time, as always, she helped me a lot. 😊
Tres Leches Cake is a dessert from Mexico, which is currently very popular in our country. In Serbia, there is a cake called "koh", which is prepared in a similar way but is topped with one type of milk, while this cake, as the name suggests, is soaked in three types of milk. Although it is more caloric than our "koh" cake, it has a fuller and more interesting taste.
I got this recipe from my colleague from work and it is no different from a cake from a pastry shop.
Let's begin.
Components:
6 eggs
250 grams of sugar (10 tablespoons)
300 grams of flour (15 tablespoons)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 baking powder
Three types of milk: 1l of sweet-sour cream, 400ml of condensed milk but unsweetened, and 500ml of milk.
In a bowl, mix eggs and sugar, add vanilla sugar, flour, and baking powder. Blend until well combined.
Pour the mixture into a baking dish. The layer will be thin when you put it in the baking dish, but it will grow during baking. Bake in preheated oven for about 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius, until a toothpick comes out clean.
When the cake is done take it out of the baking dish.
Combine three types of milk into a larger bowl.
Pour half of the milk mixture into the baking dish in which the cake was baked and return the cake back to the dish. Pour the rest of the milk over the cake. To better absorb the milk, pierce it all over with a fork.
Leave the cake to "rest" and absorb all the milk. Keep it cold.
As a cake topping, I used ready-made caramel that I bought in the store.
And in a very short time, without much trouble, this delicious and moist cake was made.
And that's it, simply, quickly and deliciously! The kids will definitely adore it! And surely Tres Leches Cake will get a lot of compliments from everyone who tries it.
Bon appetit!
