8 wonders of tigernuts.
Tigernut is an edible tuber of chufa. Scientifically known as Cyperus esculentus.
It was originally cultivated in Egypt but has gained popularity globally because of it's health benefits.
What are the benefits of tigernut?
•Tigernut contains an insoluble dietary fiber which aid in regulation of blood sugar levels.
•Tigernut contains an amino acid arginine which helps blood vessels to relax by lowering your blood pressure and maintain a healthy cardiovascular system.
•Tigernut aids in digestion with the help of the enzymes such as catalase, amylase and lipase. Also use in treating stomach upset, irritable bowels and other digestive issues.
•Tigernut improves wound healing by increasing blood vessels developments that aids in the recovery process.
•Tigernut improves erectile dysfunction due to the healthy blood flow to the arteries of the penis which is essential for normal erectile function as a result of prensece of arginine which helps to dilate the blood vessels.
•Tigernut helps to prevent cancer because of the vitamin E contents that protects us from creation of harmful free radicals which are responsible for the dead cells in the body.
•Tigernut can be substituted for animal milk but no lactose, which is rich in calcium, vitamin c and vitamin E.
•Tigernut contains magnesium which helps to carry out biochemical reactions in the human body and strengths the bone.
Preparation
•Wash your Tigernut.
•Soak Tigernuts in water for 1-2 days.
•Add your diced coconut in your blender.
•Add your dates by removing the seed, much easier if soaked for about an hour to soften before peeling it out from seed.
•Bring out the soaked dates from the water and blend it, together with the coconut and dates, but with little water.
•Place a sieve bag, same type used for pap in a bowl and pour the paste in the bag, then squeeze the bottom of the bag to release the milk.
•Finally pour into a jar and allow to chill for some minutes in the fridge.
•Enjoy your drink.
