These homemade tostones are a good source of nutrients apart from being delicious. Patacones are the favorite dish on Venezuelan beaches, they are accompanied by a fresh cabbage and carrot salad. Follow the step by step of this easy recipe and learn how to make Venezuelan patacones.

Zuliano patacón is different from tostones and patacones in the rest of the country and the Caribbean area, it is thin and stylized, it is filled with various ingredients and two (2) thin and wide tapas are used in a kind of Zuliano sandwich.
To prepare a patacón, we cut a small green banana in half, fry for 10 minutes both pieces in abundant hot oil, until golden brown and drain in a colander.

Apart we place a plastic bag cut on the sides forming two <-shaped covers that we place on a wooden board or on the top of the kitchen, in the middle we add salt, oregano and ground garlic and place one of the banana pieces, cover with the plastic bag and crush with a flat plate until you get a flattened disc that we fry in hot oil until it is toasted.

We take one of the tapas of the patacón already ready and fill with the ingredients of our choice; However, every patacón is always filled with hand cheese, lettuce, tomato on wheels, green sauce, ketchup and mustard, the rest of the ingredients will depend on the taste and pocket of the diner. The most popular ingredient for filling the patacones is the baked leg cut into small slices.

The stuffed patacón is originally from the city of Maracaibo in Zulia State, where there are specialized food sites in this type of preparation, there are countless street food stalls that offer the patacón and each site is said to be better than another.

In some places the stuffed patacon made with ripe banana and stuffed with almost any product is offered. This is perhaps the best known Marabine dish in Venezuela.
