Deconstructing the Path to the Ideal Timeline: Part 2 [INTERSECT]

in #reality-shifting6 years ago (edited)

A cycle broken, a role reversed. When you reality shift alone for so long, it can slip the mind that you aren't the only body in motion. Whether aware of it or not, everyone is technically shifting all the time. After months of observing and documenting the worlds I've come across...

I've made it to what I regard is the ideal timeline of my journey... but things only get stranger from here. Synchronicities, lack of memories, and a person written into your book of life—when you swore you'd already read all the chapters.

If you haven't had the chance to read through part one, I suggest going over it first. This new piece can be read as self-contained, but is only one part of a much larger arc.

The following events take place in chronological order.

A Set Up, a Hangout

It's like my friends have a sixth sense that happens to know exactly when I'm about to start my homework. A good friend we know as "Brazil" hit me up on messenger, and asked me to talk over some drinks about a girl he was fond of, but was having issues over.

We met up at a Bar/ arcade, and he spoke of his concerns, which eventually lead into mine. We headed into Waikiki for a second bar, and although I can't remember for the life of me how, a person named Adrian was mentioned. I had to correct Brazil that I knew no such person, and continued on. I eventually laughed at the idea how I was going to be single beyond 30 (28 currently), and that because I'm afraid of animals, I couldn't even become a crazy cat lady. The night ended with Brazil and I headed home.

A Game That Called to Me

I was at home a few days later and while browsing through my Youtube, and came across an alluring video in my "recommended" tab.

【MMD】Look back on the 20th year of DDR 1st STAGE【DDR 20th Anniversary】

I am a huge fan and a long time player (15+ years) of the video game; Dance Dance Revolution. I got all feelsy and wanted to play it more than anything that day. I decided that I would head to the arcade right after work to play "at least one" game. When I got there I was taken by surprise that the machine had just started a special "20th-year anniversary event" that begun the same day, all complete with special settings, skins... and one brand new song.

I needed to get the high score on that particular song. Getting the top score on a song popular in our community is something that I just really enjoy doing. The most popular song in 2016 "Come to Life", I was able to snipe that score away from another top player.

I decided that it must have been fate, but when I failed to beat it, I tried again, and again, and again. I was always just short. I looked to see who had the score for the song and I stopped...

I didn't recognize the name.

The card user's name was CINDY. One of the only other people there that night was a quiet friend in our community named Trisha, and she let me know "Cindy" was Adrian's alias.

What off put me about this is how I wouldn't know someone who is obviously in our scene, that can score this well. There was a short list in my head of all the other people that could have came in to play that day and gotten the highscore instead, but for some reason everyone else was missing that day.

I was very salty that I couldn't get that score—so much in fact that when I got home, I decided I would "call him out" (tag him) in a post about not being good enough to take down his score. That would have been fine, except that when I tried to add him... We were already friends.

I had no idea who he was, or even the slightest clue.

A Friend's Special Hell

I went back that weekend to get back into the game, since I apparently got rusty. A group of friends that had just left heard I was there, and one of them we know as "Urata" decided to head back over to hang out and talk with me about something that was bothering him.

There was a girl that was breaking his heart, and I've known this for a long time. Me and many of our close friends have given him advice about his situation, but with her being "his first", he didn't listen to me, or anyone else! He told me a long story of her inconsideration and what she did. Urata had one request that he reminded me throughout all of it and that was...

"Don't tell Adrian about any of this."

Uhhh...

Up until that point everyone was refering him as if I already knew him.

I Decided to Talk to Him

The following weekend, I had one of my friends over to watch "Train to Busan" (good zombie movie, would recommend). Part way through however, I was met with a phone call from a drunk Urata. He was a few blocks away at a company work party, and wanted to vent. After a bunch of drunk ramblings (we were drinking too), I decided to have him come over to speak with me.

He had been getting much more depressed lately and many people were wondering what was up with him.

After hanging out for the majority of the night, I realized it had gotten late, so I sent everyone home. In the back of my mind, I had an itching thought... to inform Adrian what was going on. He must have mattered enough for Urata to make that request in the first place.

Adrian was really nice through our messaging. He was grateful that I was doing my best to help Urata with what he was going through, since he was a close friend but wasn't being opened up to. What a bizarre first conversation with someone. I found it impossibly weird that someone has the exact same friends as me, I hear their name everywhere, and I literally have no idea who they are.

It's almost like he came from nowhere. I went out on a limb to ask him about timeline jumping. I mean, it wasn't like some random gamer would even know what I was talking about. Up until now, my friends have listened to my weird thoughts, but out of being polite while not grasping too much of it.

His bubbles are grey, and mine are blue:

Oh, I was shaken.

If reality is scripted in any way, then I have some amazing writers! He also thought it was strange that I seemingly appeared out of nowhere. He had heard my name everywhere recently and was as equally weirded out as I was about the entire thing. We had been doing out own things at the same places, with the same people, all with different versions of these stories. Our timelines began to intercept one another.

I did request his research paper, because this isn't exactly the kind of thing you can "fake an interest in." I was legitimately blown away by it. He wrote this as his final for a writing class where he could write about anything he wanted. Over 20 pages long, and he chose this for his topic.

He was aware of every concept, and could understand my theories towards many things. I whipsered to myself a big "No way."

We even came up with a theory as to what was going on in our observations. We were witnessing two timelines merging over into one, but were the only ones aware of it.

We Chose to Meet In Person

And immediately hit it off. Such chemistry that it was honestly spooky. Throughout this, I've decided that I did want to get to know him better, and although he was apprehensive—felt the same. He did want to remain friends claiming that

"You are the one friend I don't want to lose."

And of course it triggered a strong deja vu.

I did ask Adrian for his reasoning on stating this, and it was because this was the "expected behavior for his character," and one of the many reasons that no one takes him seriously. He referred to me as the the cute gamer girl he would obviously ask out. So he didn't want to do it, even though this was his desire.

I was upset, and laughed to myself. "So this is my karma huh?" After all of this, to have finally met someone that clicked with me so hard, but didn't want me back. He clarified that he did, but what if we rushed into things and it didn't work out? He would lose me forever, and he didn't want to take such a risk on me.

We hung out a little more, and our friends didn't accept his answer... Rather it appeared disingenuous to them. He spoke highly of me and told everyone he didn't want to lose me, but did he really feel that way? He made a choice, and did ask me out a short time after.

The Love You Don't See Coming

Things are cliche for a reason. You always hear the stories of the person of your dreams appearing from nowhere when you aren't even looking. This is one of those stories. Because I went out to do one of my favorite things ever instead of moping around, I happened to meet the most extraordinary man ever.

All of the struggles I've endured this past year essentially prepared me to be ready when that person appeared. Things like fate, retrocausality, and watching your world rewrite itself before your own eyes taught me a lot about the universe. Sometimes you should let go, and not resist. Even your biggest wishes, or greatest desires can be overwritten by the universe, and a lot of times is much better than what you even think is possible. The universe hears you.

We treat each other with so much love and respect, we support each other, joke about everything, and have a new adventure everyday—whether he's next to me or not. Adrian is not only my boyfriend, but my lover, my support, and my best friend.

A reality with two timeline shifters, now THAT'S an adventure.
