Are digital mortgages a threat to brokers?

Personally, I can think of nothing worst than being a real estate agent or broker, but somehow in Australia, and perhaps around the world they are becoming one of the biggest earning industries. As much as I dislike the idea of having a broker who often looks like a stick is up their arse, I am not sure about banks cashing on the industry and investing in broker-free or agent-free software such as propps(which sounds like Proctosedyl an anal analgesic cream).
