On the 4th of April, RBI (Reserve Bank of India) announced that all financial institutions have to stop transactions with cryptocurrency trading websites within the next 3 months. This led to a crash of prices in all crypto currencies which were trading on Indian exchanges, for example:- Ethereum and Bitcoin going down to around 265 $ (more then a 100 $ less than on international exchanges) and 5850 $ respectively even though the prices of these coins were actually much higher on International Exchanges. This presented a window of great oppurtunity to Indians to buy cryptocurrencies at a very very cheap price. For example i bought around 4 Eth at 265 $ and transferred them to Binance and i could buy whatever altcoins i wanted at a good sizable profit. Along with time the FUD died out as exchanges promised to fight bank against this nonsense ban and the Indian market returned to normal.
As of now more then 10 companies have filed a case against the order issued by the RBI and the matter has been taken up by the Supreme Court ( highest judicial forum in India). Initially the 1st hearing was supposed to be on the 20th of July but since the ban comes into effect on the 4th of July and the FUD has started building up again among Indian users the date has been moved to the 3rd of July. As the bear market continues all of India is looking forward to the hearing on the 3rd of July to see if a decision is ruled in favor of the people or the RBI. A favourable decision will surely be met with a sharp rise in price of all tradable crypto currencies on the Indian market while a decision to support the BAN will have a vice versa effect. But the RTI which was issued against the ruling which clearly shows that the RBI did not do any research whatsoever before imposing such a ban will not help them on the 3rd of July.
So all we do now is wait and watch!!
