What I listened with: Wireless Bluetooth Speaker

Editor Rating: 10/10

The Bottom Line: If you have been listening to the Migos, Lil uzi vert, or anything similar lately. Then listen to his mixtape it will make you appreciate the list of underrated rappers. Royce has been on the list of underrated lyrical rappers. Along with Jadakiss, Fabolous, and Lloyd Banks.

Royce Da 5’9 is determined to show the world that he is the best rapper out right now, so it is highly possible that we can all be blown away by what we hear on this new ‘Bar Exam 4’ Mixtape. Just by looking at the track list, you can tell Royce chose to rap over some beats that we all love.
The lyrics are nothing less then phenomenal on this tape! His ability to twist his words are absolutely amazing! His raps are so good that I sorta missed terrible rap by the time I heard it completely

TOP 5

  1. N MY ZONE/MASK OFF

While I’m not the biggest fan of the ‘N My Zone’ part of the song, Royce absolutely blacks out on the ‘Mask off’ part! Much like Wayne’s ‘A Millie’ beat, people tend to go hard when they rap over ‘Mask Off’, so I knew Royce would come through here! Lyrically, he is un-guardable on this song.

  1. BEATS KEEP CALLIN’

Royce raps over both ‘Bad & Boujee’ and ‘Lockin’ Jaws’ on this song, and once again Royce outdoes himself on it.
What do you want me to say? He blacked out? Of Course he blacked out on this song… I will say this though, I haven’t heard many people get super lyrical over ‘Bad & Boujee’, so this song sounds pretty interesting.
His verses over ‘Lockin’ Jaws’ is amazing, and I have nothing to add other then that.

  1. GOV BALL

‘Gov Ball’ is probably the most complete song on this tape, as it has a chorus and good chemistry between everyone involved. The song samples the ‘I Think She Likes Me’ beat, which is one of my favorite beats this year.
Westside Gunn and Conway both sound like the bumbling criminals that follow Royce around during crime sprees on this song; One provides the deep voice, and the other provides the squeaky voice.
Royce is the neutralizer on this song, calmly laying down his verse over the bossy beat. He continues to discuss his dominance in the game on his verse, letting us know that all other rappers are doomed!

  1. CHOPPIN’ BLOCKS

The way Royce is twisting his words on this song is nothing less than talented! He mixes in today’s hot topics with tough bars, sounding like a gutter ass TMZ.
As you may know now, each character on Slaughterhouse has a unique style when they rap – On this song, they each share this heinous tone that is kill-a-rapperesque.
This is the definition of a rap exercise to me.

  1. KEYS

Too much wordplay in so little time! The next bar is better than the previous one, which will have you at a lost of words by the end. The beat even switches up at one point, but that doesn’t stop this n—a one bit!
