How long does it take to digest a standard business card?

In my day to day life, this is a question I regularly get asked by clients, so I just thought I would prepare a bit of a summary for you all to be familiar with this important information.

There are a number of factors that dictate the total digestive cycle for any object. With the example of the business card, the main factors to consider are:

• size (height x width)
• finish of the card (matte finish can lack the lubrication required for easy digestion)
• shape (more edges = longer to digest)
• thickness (the thicker the less likely to cut your insides up on the way down)
• colours printed on the card (red and green can be quite difficult to swallow)
• nature of work conducted by the company on the card (lawyers and hedge trimmers seem to be the most difficult)
