Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar’s 2.0 To Surpass Dangal And Release In 10,000-15,000 Screens Across China?
With every passing day anticipation for South superstar Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's 2.0 is only growing. If yu think Baahubali was huge, then wait till 2.o hits screens as this sci-fi thriller is touted to be the biggest Indian movie to release, surpassing even the Prabhas starrer mega blockbuster. Now, there's a buzz doing the rounds that the film is not only going to get a huge nationwide release in January, but also a massive one worldwide that could perhaps even beat Dangal's record. Trade expert Ramesh Bala took to Twitter recently to reveal that the film will have a Chinese dubbed version and it will be released across 10,000 to 15,000 screens in China. Here's Ramesh Bala's tweet:
This is indeed an impressive number of screens for an Indian movie in China. The credit for this entirely goes to Dangal that showcased amazing performance in the Chinese market, thereby opening the audiences to Indian cinema. However, there is no report as of now suggesting that the Chinese release will take place simultaneously with the Indian one.
Previously, producer Raju Mahalingham had declared that the audio launch of 2.0 would take place in October, the teaser would be out in November and finally the trailer would be launched in December. Reports indicate that the audio launch will be held at Burj Park in Dubai on October 27, where AR Rahman is expected to have a live performance. At the event, the films' lead actors, Rajinikanth, Amy Jackson and Akshay Kumar are also expected to be present. (ALSO READ: Aamir Khan beats Rajinikanth s 2.0! He had then said, " We are expecting close to 35,000 people to turn up for the event. We are planning to set up large LED screens for people who cannot get into the venue so that they can enjoy the grand gala. Apart from A.R. Rahman, we are yet to zero in on who is performing and who is not. We are speaking to high-profile actors from India and abroad to grace the event.
Written and directed by S. Shankar, co-written by B. Jeyamohan and produced by Subaskaran Allirajah, founder of Lyca Productions, 2.0 is expected to be an Indian science fiction film. It is a sequel to the 2010 Tamil film Enthiran and will feature Rajinikanth essaying the roles of Dr. Vaseegaran and Chitti, alongside Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson. The movie will be released simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi
