Torrential rains have also caused disasters in South Korea. So far, 26 people have died and 10 are missing as a result of large-scale landslides.

Landslide in northeastern South Korea on March 13. Sediment peeled away from the brown, bare mountainside in one fell swoop.

According to the local government, it is estimated that approximately 6,000 tons of earth and sand collapsed.

In South Korea, heavy rains over the past few days have caused a series of cliff collapses and flooding across the country, and in the central province of Chungcheongbuk-do, a dam overflowed its banks, forcing the evacuation of some 6,400 residents.

According to the South Korean government, 26 people have died and 10 are missing, and Prime Minister Han Duk-soo has ordered the mobilization of military units to do everything possible to rescue the missing.
