Rahaf's arsenal of weapons
A cell phone and the magic of Social Media!
Rahaf used the most powerful decentralized thing we already have in the world: MEDIA
The greatest invention of humankind after Internet, is the new generation of itself, I believe: decentralized media
who is Rahaf?
source
18-year-old Saudi woman who fled her family to avoid a forced marriage (like what most of Arab girls in countries like Saudi experience) and to seek opportunities like education, work and live freely, as every man or woman have in rational societies!
How she ran away?
She had a passport and an Australian visa, so she ran away from her family in Kuwait airport and took a ticket to Thailand capital, Bangkok.
Rahaf Mohammed al-Qunun was stopped by authorities at Bangkok’s main airport as she arrived on a flight from Kuwait at the weekend after running away from her family. The Thai authorities first were cooperating with Saudi government who have killed Jamal Khashoggi recently! an opposer journalist who was continuously writing against Mohammad Bin Salman, MBS, the young crown king of Saudi Arabia.
The moment of Victory
In the first season of series, House of Cards, Zoe Barnes, the young journalist, says to her boss, Tom Hammerschmidt (all fictious characters):
and she used her twitter account to spread the words which managed Tom to get fired by the management!
This js exactly what Rahaf did, with her cell phone, desperately twitted about her condition and let everybody in the world know about her case.
in 2017 another Saudi woman did the same escape but just tweeted once from a Canadian citizen. the world knew her but the Saudi auth took her and nobody heard again from Dina Ali again.
This is the moment of victory for us, trusting the new decentralized world.
This is a beautiful motivating story, which shows other girls in these countries not to give up on slavery ! and that there will always be a solution to gain freedom.
TRUE! also it shows we can gain more freedom finally adapting techs like internet.
I like to see skmething similar happening to world's financial system with blockchain and cryptos 🤞

But why Australia and not Eqypt or Jordan?
obviously countries you mentioned would hand her to Saudi authorities immediately!
btw, she finally went to Canada not Australia
