Open-minded

I like to believe that i'm a pretty open minded person, that i would hear all sides of the story before making a judgement, and now i have heard so many sides of this argument on racism and this is my opinion. Please note that this is just an opinion.

About the statement of "Black lives matter". I don't understand how this statement can generate so much discussion. People often say that if you do #blacklivesmatter you are stating that non black lives don't matter but how can anyone possible see it like that? This is like saying that if i say "I matter",i am also saying no one matters as well. What if someone says "I'm Beautiful"? would you argue with them? Would you call them selfish for not saying that anyone else is beautiful as well?  If the statement was "Only black lives matter" i would be in the front row arguing against that, however i fully support the message of black lives matter and i don't see any reason not too. 

As an Asian, I myself has experienced racism and therefore agree with the argument that not only African Americans experience racism, but just because they are not the only race that experiences racism doesn't mean that they don't have a right to fight it. I understand that "white people" face discrimination as well but just because other people decide to put up with racism doesn't mean African Americans have to sit back and take it as well. Especially not if it's costing people their lives.

Although i am mad that some many people are so blind to the racism in our society i also don't blame them. Like my parents, a lot of people were raised in a time where being racist was the way of society, it was the behaviour that was deemed to be right in society. A lot of people don't know any better but to be racist. It's like being told your whole life that 1+1=2 and then suddenly people believe that 1+1 actually equals 3. It's in fact a huge change in society that people don't deal well with and therefore continue their racist ways. I don't blame them for their behaviour but i do blame them when they are too stubborn to hear anyone elses side of the argument on why they shouldn't be racist.
