Racism : will it ever truly go away?
Since the beginning of time man have been afraid of things they thought were different. They thought people or things that are different from them were dangerous. But man's curiosity to know and understand people and things that were different led men to journey for the discovery of new and different and which eventually lead to the discovery of the world as we know it. It is with the development of concept of wealth that men had a twisted revelation that 'what is different can be exploited by demeaning them' . But with changing times long struggle for racial equality changed peoples way of thinking and we came to live in a society where people became accustomed and interested to accept different people and different cultures. But racism never truly disappeared from from our society. People who were unwilling to accept different people and culture harbored their negative feelings within them, sometimes expressing them and sometimes hiding them. This begs the question, will racism ever truly go away?
History does indicate that, racism will go away. We can see that changing times changes the way people think. People now are more open and more accepting than they ever thought they could be. This gives hope that one day people all over the world would embrace and accept diversity and we will live to see a world not divided by differences.
