Kit Kutenes

Well we had some cute kits born about 10 days ago. They change so quick and are already getting big. They even are starting to open their eyes.

We started off with 23 kits from 4 does. One doe Silver which we had bred with the Black Knight had our biggest litter of 10. Lost the runt within a few days then 1 today not sure what happened to it.

One of first timers lost 3 during delivery then lost her other 2 two days later. We will give her another try in a month or so. So now we only have 16 kits.

This is the first time we have had Checkered Giant babies and oh my goodness they are so big and adorable.

We have one doe named Nightmare because she is definitely a nightmare.

When decided to breed her and Black Knight together to get an all black litter she gave a little present to remember the occasion. Like I said Nightmare.

Unless she gives a giant litter she may be one my sons meals soon. I can't have a rabbit that is unable to be handled. When breeding you have to place the doe with the buck instead of the buck with the doe. She will defend her territory and not let him mount her.

The rest of the rabbits are enjoying the nice weather we are having. Rain is in the forecast all next week.
