TIME TO ESCAPE INTO MY WORLD OF PHOTOS/ES HORA DE ESCAPAR A MI MUNDO DE FOTOS

The above photo I took when visiting the rose garden at Botanical Garden not far from my place. My daughter and I usually go every summer, but due to Covid we skipped last summer. I am hoping we can get back to our annual photo outing. My wife has come with us a couple of times, but the place is so large I do not think she can physically handle it.

La foto de arriba la hice cuando visité la rosaleda del Jardín Botánico, no muy lejos de mi casa. Mi hija y yo solemos ir todos los veranos, pero debido a Covid nos saltamos el verano pasado. Espero que podamos volver a nuestra salida fotográfica anual. Mi mujer ha venido con nosotros un par de veces, pero el lugar es tan grande que no creo que pueda soportarlo físicamente.

I have not felt well for awhile and it has been difficult to keep up on my work load, including posting. I may have mentioned that I tested negative for Covid, yet I sure had most of the symptoms, including something going on with my heart. Or at least that is what it feels like. I wore a heart monitor for 48 hours and it did not record anything. I just finished my second 48 hours, and now I wait for the results. The heart palpitations are worrisome, but the fatigue is the worst for someone as active as I am. It has definitely slowed me down. One day I do okay and the next ithe fatigue hits me hard.

I encourage everyone to be safe and wear a face-mask. I have followed all the safety protocols, including using lots of hand sanitizer. When I got sick I even wore mask in house, and used nitrile gloves when preparing meals and passing out medications. No one else in the household has gotten sick, thankfully

Animo a todo el mundo a estar seguro y a llevar una máscara facial. He seguido todos los protocolos de seguridad, incluido el uso de mucho desinfectante de manos. Photographs/Fotografías

This first photograph is not a flower, yet it is grown in my flower bed. It is low growing so I plant some in containers and some grow on the edges.. They tend to spread, yet do not get out of control. I am thinking of trying to get a new container going and try growing them in the house. They are called Hens and Chicks.

Esta primera fotografía no es una flor, pero se cultiva en mi parterre. Es de bajo crecimiento, así que planto algunas en contenedores y otras crecen en los bordes.. Tienden a extenderse, pero no se descontrolan. Estoy pensando en tratar de conseguir un nuevo contenedor y tratar de cultivarlas en el interior. Se llaman Hens and Chicks.

This next plant is called lemon Balm or Lemon Mint. It makes a wonderful tea. I planted some in my flower bed 18 years ago and it continues to thrive. It self seeds so I have lots of it growing. It almost acts like a ground cover and blocks out some weeds. I have tried numerous times to move some to another garden and have had no success.

La siguiente planta se llama bálsamo de limón o menta de limón. Hace un té maravilloso. Planté un poco en mi parterre hace 18 años y sigue prosperando. Se auto-semilla, por lo que tengo un montón de ella creciendo. Actúa casi como una cubierta vegetal y bloquea algunas malas hierbas. I believe this next photo is of one of my rose bushes. It has since died above the graft so now I get flowers but not a perfectly formed as some of these. They remind me of a red version of wild roses that grow around here. It is the root stock that is prolific now.

Creo que la siguiente foto es de uno de mis rosales. Desde entonces ha muerto por encima del injerto, así que ahora tengo flores, pero no tan perfectamente formadas como algunas de éstas. Me recuerdan a una versión roja de las rosas silvestres que crecen por aquí. Es el portainjerto el que es prolífico ahora.

I do not recall what flower this next one is. I took it a couple of years ago when visiting a Botanical Garden. Sometimes the Macro-view makes it hard for me to identify. I hope you enjoy it.

No recuerdo el nombre de la siguiente flor. La tomé hace un par de años cuando visité un Jardín Botánico. A veces la vista macro me dificulta la identificación. Espero que la disfruten.

This last flower appears to be a Coreopsis. They grow wild on my property. Before I moved to my present location I used to grow them... The look wonderful in a large plot.

Esta última flor parece ser una Coreopsis. Crecen de forma silvestre en mi propiedad. Antes de mudarme a mi actual ubicación solía cultivarlas... Quedan muy bien en una parcela grande.

I am using a Canon EOS Rebel T5 for most photographs, except where noted. I do have an older PowerShot Canon camera that I use from time to time. Wildlife is usually taken by a stationary trail camera that takes photos based on motion.

Estoy usando una Canon EOS Rebel T5 para la mayoría de las fotografías, excepto donde se indique. Tengo una vieja cámara PowerShot Canon que uso de vez en cuando. La vida silvestre es generalmente tomada por una cámara estacionaria de senderos que toma fotos basadas en el movimiento.
