[QWoA] The First Apology is Always the Cheapest
This little phrase occurred to me. I think it has some depth to it. Chew on this one for a while...
The first apology is always the cheapest
Quick Words of Advice, or QWoA, are how I tag random life lessons that I pick up as I learn how to live my life better.
Forgiveness is an attribute of a strong individual, many times a person may not want to apologize because deep down inside they know the other person may have malice in their heart and won't forgive them. Nice share really like the energy this brought out of me, cheers @modprobe!
The only thing an apology costs at most is your pride.
And if you don't see that your pride is not worth an argument then you probably don't have the virtue of forgiveness to begin with.
But the best way to avoid apologizing is not making a mistake in the first place :P
I'll let this percolate for a while, thanks.
It takes courage to apology, so those who I apologize when they recognize they are wrong have strong personality not weakness
this post kinda hit home...it took me years to forgive the horrific thing done to me as a child and reading this and the comments in this section feels good today!
You must think really deep to exactly know what is in this sentence. I believe that the first apology is the hardest, the rest will follow, but to take the first step is difficult.
The hardest, yes, perhaps... Maybe that's the point...
Could be indeed. There are maybe 100 ways to explain. But Its not the easy one when you first read it.. So i keep mine explanation for now.👍
Did I offer peace today? Did I bring a smile to someone's face? Did I say words of healing? Did I let go of my anger and resentment? Did I forgive? Did I love? These are the real questions. I must trust that the little bit of love that I sow now will bear many fruits, here in this world and the life to come. Henri Nouwen
Great Post Sir!!!
The first apology may be the least informed but it probably takes the most swallowed pride.
I'll let this sink in for a while, thanks for sharing :)
