Goodbye Tiers, Hello Multiplier! We need some input and feedback!
For the past year or so Qurator has been using TIERS to determine each upvote. The tiers started a long time ago and they worked pretty well back then but with so many changes on Steemit and the members ever growing we thought it is time to make a change to a system that is much simpler. HF20 also played a role and we can now do things that were not possible in the past.
We would like to get some feedback from our members before we change anything. The new system will have simplicity in mind and will hopefully make it easier to get the maximum value out of your Qurator membership.
Goodbye Tiers, Hello Multipliers.
The short version
- No more Tiers
- Move to a Multiplier system where you get an upvote worth 10 times more than the SP you delegate
- Supporting Qurator with upvotes/delegation will let your MULTIPLIER grow to a maximum of 12 times
- Less admin concerning your Tier
- Delegate what you can afford and reap the rewards while supporting the community
- Bonus rewards for Delegators
The longer version
- The MULTIPLIER
Everyone Starts on a MULTIPLIER of 10
Current members
Delegating 1 - 4 999SP start with 10
Delegating 5 000 - 9 999SP start with 11
Delegations above 10 000SP start with 12
New members
Delegating 1 - 4 999SP start with 10
Delegating 5 000 - 9 999SP start with 10
Delegations above 10 000SP start with 10
Upvotes from Q cannot exceed 100%, so take a look at Q's SP and divide by 10 to find out the max delegation
What does this MULTIPLIER mean?
Delegation of 100 = 1000SP upvote.
Delegate 10 SP = 100 SP upvote
Similar to an upvote from an account with 1000SP
If you can't or don't want to delegate
Minnow support (old T1 and T2) is now a single SP boost system.
Upvoting Qurator posts up to $0.35 per week = a return of 1:1.1
below 0.35 but 100% = 1:1.1
Upvote 0.35 per week and get 0.385 in return
Have a small account and upvoting at 100% will result in Qurator upvoting you with a minimum of $0.03
These are some of the changes we are thinking of to replace the current TIER system.
The main reason is to promote growth for both members and the project while also giving members the choice of upvoting/delegating. No more difficulty in working out your tier and your Multiplier, as well as your accumelated UPVOTE SP, can be viewed in Discord.
Long-term supporters will benefit more since they support more.
We would love to hear your thoughts, concerns, and ideas regarding this system.
Seems to make good sense to me
Delegate 10 to get 100, 100 to get 1,000 with the 10 multiplier so 200 gets you 2k and so on, 250 gets you an upvote of SP 2,500, correct?
Sorry if I’m repeating questions. Ok, that was a lie, I’m not really sorry! If it’s as simple as that then I understand it better before its implementation than I do the current tier system which I’ve been a member of now for awhile.
Could you give me an example, in numbers please, for one of the examples I used? Say the person delegating 250 SP, their daily upvote from @quator (I’m pretty sure) will be at 2500 SP. What happens when that person Upvotes qurator once at .05 cents/day?
Thank you!
On that example the 2500 SP upvote on steemnow results in a 0.12 upvote. If you also upvote at 0.05 cents a day the final upvote to you would be 0.175
Thanks for all the hard work you guys!
Actually, while I’ve got you, would two .025 votes/day be the same as one .05 vote per day? Can we stack Upvotes like that? Thank you!
We will still tally the upvotes once per week and /7 to get an average to allow people to upvote whenever they want.
So the total over all 21 posts may be 0.7 which would mean 0.1 per day. The upvotes returned will only be 0.055 though as it is capped
I'm in favor of this switch. People just need to understand that, just as before, you can participate as much or as little as you want. The more you participate, the bigger your reward.
Changes that make it more simplistic for the community to grow and benefit is always a great idea. Could you also add an example of someone who both delegates and upvotes during the week? Thanks!
The delegation and upvote will stack. This means that if someone delegates a 100 SP and upvotes for 0.05 he will get the total of 1000 SP upvote every day and 0.055 upvote (1000 SP upvote + 0.055 upvote = 0.105 upvote)
Got it! Thanks! Simple and straightforward; makes sense! Thanks for discussing your thoughts!
Looks very simpler in comparison to the tiers one...if i understood it correctly of i delegate 100 sp the i will get 1000 sp worth of upvotes per day....so finally it depends on what you delegating. There is no more tiers or daily upvotes requird....also it help @qurator to increase the sp holding due to more delegation.....correct me if i am wrong......thats sounds a good deal

That is right, this simplifies the system
That is good thing but what if someone not want to delegate and they will vote 0.05 daily to qurator and what about competition as how it will effect to it?
They will get 0.055 back. When you win competitions, it is a delegation boost. So we assign some of our leased SP to you and you get an upvote based on how much is assigned to you
This would certainly make it simpler. It took me a couple of months to figure out what my upvotes were going to be because the tier system is so complicated. This would make is much easier to understand, especially for newbies.
That is what we were hoping for
Won't there be subscriptions anymore?
We will keep the subscriptions on a similar system to the upvotes, where we calculate a profitable rate and stack on top of whatever you have.
We will be monitoring the account VP. If it drops too much we may reduce subscription prices as in the past
It's actually a great copy of my service: https://busy.org/@delabo/delabo-delegation-based-upvote-service released some weeks ago. I'm wondering if you got the idea from that.. but hey, you're welcome!
Actually the initial inspiration for this was smartvote. So I guess you should congratulate smartvote as well for the idea
To move onto the other parts,
sponsoring others was already a part of qurator
the multiplier on the upvotes was embedded in the tiers, we just separated it out
we had a curation trail since the beginning
the multiplier growth is Q's idea. In this ecosystem some similarities are inevitable
Maybe example would help.
Lets say I delegate 100 SP.
I post 4 times per week.
What would be my upvote from qurator?
0.05 on each of the 4 posts
Thanks
