The wrong and right quotes

It is typical of our society that we cite quotes to strenghen our position in the fights about our hearts and minds. And almost nobody uses the time to check all the falsely spead ideas and information.

But is this really important? A good quote serves his purpose independent of the origin!
An excellent quote that fits the situation of our (crypto) society:
There is nothing more powerful than an idea whose time has come.

In German:
Nichts ist mächtiger als eine Idee, deren Zeit gekommen ist.

The alleged French original was from Victor Hugo and said:
"On résiste à l’invasion des armées ; on ne résiste pas à l’invasion des idées."
It is possible to resist an invasion of an army, but not an invasion of ideas.

This original quote actually describes how the US is dominated the world so easily: They have managed to spread the idea of being a superpower not an empire!
