Beginning in high school, and also a whole bunch of pencil sketches
and Self Portraits I'd done over the years. During my sojourn into
Darkness of addiction, I lost all of it. I've considered trying to
Get hypnotized to try and recover the writings at least.
It is terrible what drugs and alcohol do to us.
Now that I'm old and my body is broken
Down by 40 yrs of abuse, I'm clean
And sober, but now what? I am
Almost lost trying to figure
Out what to do with
Myself.
WOW.! that is truly deep and thank you for trusting me a complete stranger to share yourself this way. I was an English Literature freak and loved Shakespeare. Wrote poetry and was a hippy child. Then life took hold and work and marriage and kids and mortgage and all the shit that life throws at you. Death and taxes and all and I lost my niche for writing somewhere. I can not even find my poems in all the moves and such. A while ago I started writing again, as I was inspired by a fellow Steemian. Now I am in the throws of renovations and I can not find my poem heart again. So ..now I read yours. I love them. Keep writing, maybe in age its all we have left.
Once I get out of this madhouse, settled into my new place, and achieve some
Semblance of 'serenity' in my life, I may do that.
To be truthful, I have sat down to see if any 'inspiration' flowed a few
Times, and nothing happened. Oh, I can make a decent 'architectural' drawing
of buildings or roads etc... but nothing like what I once was able to render.

It is not something one can push. These days I am using my creative flow to Reno a home rather than write. All an art form in a sense.
