If you write that 2+5=12, i don't think i'm the one who's failing
But the answer is 45
You add the two numbers above it to the total. It's like a running total. 1+4+2+5= 12

1+4=5 => 1×(4+1)=5
2+5=12 => 2×(5+1)=12
3+6=21 => 3×(6+1)=21
5+8=x => 5×(8+1)=x
so x=45 :)
