Complexity vs. The people

in #quickthoughts7 years ago (edited)

The more complex an idea, the fewer the people that will understand it reasonably well.

Often, the great questions of Humanity and Civilization fall into this category of complex ideas.

This raises some fundamental questions:

  • Which system is superior on creating the rules by which a society is governed?
  • Should participation on creating those rules be considered a natural right?
  • Isn't democracy, by definition, populist?
  • Is aristocracy/monarchy ever legitimate?
  • Should the system be based on quasi-consensus (i.e.: very conservative)?
  • What limits can be implemented and how?
  • How can anarchy work properly?
