Article: DeepOnion Quick Start Guide

  1. Setting up your wallet.

Download the wallet from the deeponion.org and then wait for it to finish updating. At the top you will a menu with the following:

Overview, what has come in and out and your available balance

Send Coins, Enter an address and how many onions you want to send and away you go. If you also type in the label their address gets saves in an address book to make it easier to find them next time.

Receive coins, this is like your bank details or PayPal address. Give this address to someone and they can send you some onions.

Address Book, contains all the people you gave labels too.

Messages, send messages straight to their wallet.

DeepVault, this lets you put things on the blockchain. For example, you might have to send legal documents to someone. By using this they would know the documents were not modified in any way after leaving you.

  1. Now you’re ready to go and introduce yourself, join the forum say hello and get involved in the discussion. Don’t forget to look at the competitions and bounties on offer.

  2. How to earn Onions

3.1 Bounties, every week you can submit your articles and videos and be rewarded with bounties. Articles go in the News Bank section and Videos in the video section. Articles should also be on an external site like medium and post the link for it next to your article in the forum. You then need to post in the bounty forum to claim your reward.

3.2 Competitions are always available. Check when they were posted as some old ones don’t get closed properly but they are usually free to enter and the more effort you do to enter the more chance you have to win.

3.3 Lottery, this is an easy one and I will share with you how to win.

Let’s look at the rules. You buy a ticket, themonkii then adds 100 onions to the prize pool and then draws 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. 1st get 67%, 2nd gets 18% and 3rd gets 12%.

For ease let’s assume that weight of tickets is the same as onions you purchase.

So, for this example 10 people but 1 onion tickets so the prize is 10 onions plus the 100 that themonkii has put in. You have a 1 in 10 chances of winning 73.7 onions. If you play for 10 weeks it will cost you 10 onions but you will likely win 73.7 so overall you win. Plus, you could also be 2nd or 3rd in that time.

Another example would be 10 people buy a 1 onion ticket and then someone buys a 20-weight ticket. The person who brought the big ticket has a 66% chance of winning, but even the people with the smaller ticket can win. They each have a 1 in 30 chances of winning. 1 in 30 of winning 1st at 87.1 onions, 2nd at 23.4 onions or 3rd at 15.6 onions. So, you have a 1 in 30 chances but there are 3 prizes so 3 in 30 or 1 in 10. Play for 10 weeks at 1 onion a week and you will get at least 1 prize on average that will be a minimum of 15.6 onions.

If you are fortunate enough to buy a big ticket then in the example above the 20-weight ticket had a 66% chance of winning and there is 3 prizes. If he gets 1st he gets 4x his money back.

3.4 VIP

Once you are confident that you understand what DeepOnion all about has a look at the domination tasks. These are ways we try to encourage our members to promote the coin to new members. To become VIP complete the pre-VIP task and tell us why you should be and submit 10 links to your best tasks in the application thread. Both of these can be found at the top of the domination sub-forum.

Looking at who has been selected and continues to do well I notice some patterns characteristics most VIP's have.
Promote the coin in an honest and open way.
If it's a domination task or not, we promote DeepOnion.
As we have a strong belief in the coin we hodl the majority of our coins and most have invested.
Good English and we are able to articulate the F&B in a range of ways.
Airdrop participants.
Very active on the forums.
This list is not exhaustive and you don't have to tick each one but the more things you can tick it would better your chances of getting in the VIP section.

VIP's are evaluated every week on their performance and rewarded if they have done well. It takes commitment to be a VIP and many people step down due to real life commitments. Don't take the responsibility likely.

            4.0 Airdrops

Airdrops happen every week on Fridays, to get in the airdrop you must be at least a jr member on bitcointalk and have at least 50 onions in your wallet. That’s the difficult bit then just:

· Add signature to bitcoin talk for your rank found in the airdrop menu at the top of the forum

· Add wallet address to your profile in bitcointalk under bitcoin address

· Click apply on the deeponion forum under airdrop menu

Then just post 3 times in the deeponion forum per week and 1 time in the bitcointalk forum and you will be in the airdrop. Do not do the minimum and keep an eye out for new changes.
